This summer one of my uncles was visiting from Canada, so I was showing him around the garage, pointing out the various bike projects.
So he asks me "How many of them do you have, 8?"
    "Nine, actually"
"Why so many, do you sell the motorcycles?"
"Oh no, I just buy them!"

I was stopped at a red light and a little kid was crossing the street with his mom, he ws being distracted by everything around him the way only a little kid can. He turns and catches me on the bike, stops dead as his eyes get big and says softly "motorcycle." I pop up the chin bar and give him a smile and a wave. "MOTORCYCLE!!! Mommy, MOTORCYCLE!!!" hopping up and down. Mom gets a disgusted look on her face and drags him the rest of the way across the intersection, him shouting and hopping the whole way. Poor kid.

after a spirited romp in some mud puddles Saturday, I headed to the car wash with the GS
A guy in a pickup walked over from the next bay
He wasn't long on sentences but kept mumbling "nice machine".
    Yes...thank you.

Laugh it up there is (or was) a whole thread down in beasts that was full of Strom owners that agree with me.

A Strom is easy to like (as it is a good capable bike) and hard to love because it does a lot well nothing great and is basically a boring do-it-all bike. :1drink

Oh and you are the expert of what cool is? C'mon, you ride a V-Strom. I would leave your dumbass comments like the one above for jo momma. That was quite rude and totally unprovoked. I can think of several things much more lame than a metric cruiser, top of the list are D-bags on V-stroms with high opinions of their own choice in motorcycles. :lol3

I actually have nothing against V-stroms, just D-bags. (There it is fixed)

Well I might agree with you that many people think like that.....I know know one thing. Here in Europe Motorrad magazine (and yes they are experts) still for many years in a raw point out that V Strom is best bike ever in category value for money......

I tend to agree with them as well. Thing is that many wanna be bikers ...like me....dont want to invest to much of money in some BMW or Multistrada but still want to feel the ride....hence....V Strom

We are completely out line in this thread.....

For the record I do believe that the V-Stroms are good bikes. I really like the engine. What started this was garandman's post "There is nothing more lame than a metric cruiser" that I found to be a bit absurd coming from a guy with a V-Strom.

So... In the spirit of getting this thread back on track.

I was gassing up my DR and a V-Strom pulls up to the pump across the way. He nods and says "Nice bike"

    "Thanks, Back at ya"

Of coarse this is purely fictional but it could happen. Right?
    :lol3
