One year I was driving a 4x4 tour along that track, I could see there was a pushbike up ahead somewhere by the tracks in the sand. I think it was Warburton I bought a pastie and sauce with a chock milk and headed off knowing the rider was not far ahead. Sometime later we pulled up next to him, I leaned out the window and handed them to him. They disappeared down his throat in no time, he said thanks, and with no other talk we continuned our way. Passengers were gobsmacked.
    Was that you EB ?

I bought a 83 GPZ1100 for $4747 because the Honda was $6000. It was a lot of extra cash and not quite as comfy.

    July 1996 ?

    I don’t remember a choc milk.
I did have a guy stop and ask if I needed anything, I scored a toilet roll off him and later some fruit off a father and son from SA travelling in a battered Ford F100.

I did leave some water bags at two different roadhouses with instructions to pass them on to the first vehicle heading north the following morning, for them to then give to me.
(Once I started on the dirt I had 6 litres of water in a small Backpack and another 8 in my two rear saddlebags.
I figured asking vehicles to carry four litres would lighten my load a little. I broke 2 rear spokes before Kalgoorlie and another one before Tjukayirla. I blamed the weight of all the extra water. :D)

Oh and in keeping with the thread theme, my mate John, on the short bit of seal between Tom Price and Paraburdoo in 1979 when we both worked up there.

    Ha, ha.
No Phil, he still had the stock, very long, torpedo looking muffler.

Photo below taken the same month in Paraburdoo in 1979.
I still ride with him to this day.

The airhead on the other hand, came into the country with those non standard pipes, I bought it off the Belgian that rode it overland from Europe.
(Notice the BM, no kick start, Honda with a kicker)

    I was 22 years old.
After that I grew up, realised I was magnificently endowed and didn’t have need for loud pipes as penis replacements and never had another bike without stock pipes. :lol3
