Had a really good ride but left everyone to it after Castlepoint. Not a bad bunch of chaps...

Another warm and sunny day in the Wairarapa... and more great company by the locals.
A BIG thanks to WR and MrKiwi for leading the last 2 days, Evled and Colin for helping out to keep the small band of Aussies
    on the straight and narrow.
Enjoyed their company immensely...while also giving me a much appreciated break to doddle along at the tail and snap away
at whatever caught my fancy. As for the 1pic=100km....got a bit closer to reversing that equation, there's a mountain of stuff in the can :-)
Thanks guys and sorry for the many stops

Back up North tomorrow, trying for the North Range first, then ducking up the Pohangina for some of the promising side-trails.

    Yeah, long day for ya!
Day of surprises today, now tucked in at Taihape.
Flats, bogs ...and endless re-routes to dodge the worst of the rain.
It worked, but wasn't pretty :-)

Anyone who doesn't like that... isn't worth their ADV wheels, simple.

    agreed!

whats the gear/software that gives gps speed and lat/long readout on the screen? seems to have a pretty quick refresh rate.

love the idea, but think it could be a bit incriminating!

Thanks. Garmin Virb camera and Virb software. Prior to getting the camera (2nd hand off Trademe) I was able to use GoPro video with tracks from my GPS - it just took a bit of syncing...

    Oops, my mistake...

    All good things ...

Left the Mill House near Wangamamona after a monster home-cooked dinner of leg-o-lamb and assorted baked spuds, Kumara etc by the hosts....
A nippy morning with the sheep bleating into the morning fog, the house-cat gutsing itself on the leftover milk, the odd bird being the only sound in them closeby hills, apart from the glowing woodstove crackling away.
    What a place, what a host !!

Some sweet gravel and vistas between Ohura and Piopio, then more of the same on the Long Way to Kawhia.
Raglan for the last night...and a quick dash up north to drop off the bikes tomorrow.
But not without some of my favourite dirt/ gravel of the Waikato ridges for a proper " seeya next time" :-)

Once again it's been an absolute ball to discover a little more of the N.I.

    We'll be baaack!

While we are all waiting for glitch to post some of his amazing photos i thought id borrow his thread to say im heading down that way after Easter.

Im going for a footle with the KLR ramblers around the west Waikato. Then Sunday they head home and ill head for either Palmy or somewhere in the east/ wairarapa. I'll spend the early part of the week there then head back up east through Gizzy, Lake Waikaremoana and Rotorua and aim to be back in the land of the mighty jafas on Saturday.

Given ive only got maybe three days should i focus on one area or are there cherries to be picked?

I was also going to try and do the T2B route first. Although as ill be on my tod i might give those big arsed puddles on North Range Road a miss.

Any thoughts welcome and keen to meet with anyone whose available for a coffee/ beers and a chat. Would be good to put faces to some famous local names.

Hope you dont mind me borrowing yours @glitch_oz as it didnt seem worthy of its own thread
