Green Country Oklahoma Adventure Tour or better known as GOAT is an adventure route through the backcountry of NE Oklahoma! The GOAT follows public roads through mostly gravel roads, two-track backroads, and some short connecting highways including loose gravel creek beds with up to 50 water crossings during rainy seasons. If that isn't enough, there are several places to go off-road and test your skills!
The GOAT will take you through many wooded areas including the Cherokee State Game Refuge, the J.T. Nickle Family Nature and Wildlife Preserve, and Spavinaw Hills Wildlife Management Area. The route is 483 miles and is easily two days of riding to make the loop so plan ahead!
There are off-road areas to spend an afternoon in, numerous campgrounds, swimming holes, and historical sites close to the route that could stretch your trip longer. Adventurers will have the opportunity to camp at many State Parks, rough it in the woods, or stay at a hotel or Casino Resort! The adventure is up to you!
The GOAT was created for adventure sport motorcycle riders, but almost any vehicle could make it with enough determination or take the Historic EZR route and bypass the hardest sections.
Most of the roads are very rough and street-legal vehicles are required! There is a lot of information available on the group FB page. Look for the 'Popular Topics' to narrow down the info. Sections include FAQs, Events, GPS Download, and more! Please spend some time going through the posts!
There is a helpful interactive Google map available that shows a lot of important locations here --> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1bmHGu7EOMU2vNuMUgJV_AxHcib9pOPkj&usp=sharing The GPS files to follow the route can be downloaded here --> https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QRiKfBSGnnOSskNnPalNHpIYCVDD2ncT?usp=sharing

You are responsible for your own actions. Please ride and drive within your limits! There are many dangerous blind turns with public traffic, farmers, pets, livestock, and children and medical services may be very far away. Please be respectful and careful when passing close to homes and traffic. Some of the homes are very close to the road and dogs will often run out to chase and bark! Be respectful to the locals. Your actions will reflect on all of us!

I grew up on those dirt roads, especially the trails along Spavinaw and Lake Eucha.

I just read about this in ROADRunner and it looks awesome. Next summer my wife and I will be riding from SE Kansas to Hot Springs NP before returning east. We probably will have time to work in a North to South leg of the GOAT. So, opinions and suggestions, please! What's more interesting - the eastern leg or the western leg?

Have you done this yet? If not, do the eastern leg.
