I think they did an OK job. I like the look of the ADV. Not a hug fan of the red seats but it all works together. I would go that route over the current yellow GSA.

Looks like that red seat is already starting to get some stains on it.

Interesting to see what that'll look like after a year of actual use.

Agreed. Very high "skid mark" potential.

Well, test-rode the CAM-head ADV and it was ho-hum, BUT, I will part with my '07 blinged ADV for this GS 30 year edition in a heatbeat!

Didn't read closely, is it a 2011 model or available now?

    2010, available now.

you must not have been able to really run the camhead... there is a significant difference in the motor's power... down low and up high. :nod

i got to run the livin' crap out of one at the press launch a few weeks ago.

I might have to have the 12GS, it'd look great next to my '81. And I LOVE the hideous red seat on the new one as much as my original!

I kind of like the red seat, but would have to replace it immediately with my Sargent seat, which would ruin the look of the bike. I wonder if the after-market seat makers will make red ones to match?

The plan is for them to start arriving at dealers this week. Supposidly each dealer CAN recieve one each of the 30th bikes. The dealers have had this info for over a month and should have placed their orders. I have had the VIN for my GS for several weeks now. :clap

    The first BMW GS.

Dean, Can you get the anniversary edition with the low frame option?

I can't deal with the red seat either, I'd put my Seargent seat (from my 2005 GS) on it and make the red seat a wall hanger. The red seat might we worth something.

Ran it pretty much as I run my '07. Which is fairly hard, as am usually bumping the rev limiter. The 500 or so extra RPM's nice, but once used to it, likely will bump that too. Unlike my K13S. My '07 has a Remus full system, not sure if that does much. But, did notice the lower enduro xmission made a difference in 1st but was not impressed with power difference anywhere else. Interestly, on some Euro site a couple of guys did some roll-on tests; nothing official, just two guys, one with a CAM-head, one with an '09 HEX-head. Results were pretty much the same according both of their accounts. More likely, who the heck buys a new bike and says it's the same as the old bike. But, the colors are indeed gorgeous, at least to me.

From what I understand, the wire wheels are the same as on the GS Adv.
