Nice write up on the tires. The mud is especially terrible with the atvs that rut it up all kinds of crooked.

Are you still using your cell phone for these pics? They look sooooo much better than what my iphone 6 spits out! Great pics!

Yes, just about every picture I take and post is from my cell phone. A few lesser quality photos are occasionally posted that were taken from my old point-and-shoot Olympus Tough.

By the way, on my way home from the MABDR, while riding down a deep gravel road in Ohio Amish Country, I dropped the Olympus Tough while attempting to put it back in the tank bag pouch. Missed the pocket and it went tumbling down the gravel road. Heard it clunk off the GSA or I may have never realized I missed the pocket. First time I've experienced that mishap. Looped around and retrieved it - and it was barely scratched. Still seems to work fine. It is one of the older metal cased models.

Over last winter I had upgraded my phone from the Note 3 to the Note 8. So, all of the pictures you have been seeing this year are from the Note 8. The new Note 8 has some pretty impressive new camera features and upgrades, but I don't know if the finished pictures that I post are any better than years prior with the Note 3. Have you noticed a difference this year ? Or do they seem about the same ? They pretty much all go through Flikr, so maybe that is the limiting factor to the quality, if there isn't a difference. I'm not sure.

Admittedly, I'm no phone techy, but the Apple iPhone never did impress me all that much, comparatively speaking. I've always thought the Android system was much more functional. Before the Note 3, I had an Apple and didn't care for it. Although, the smoothness of operation on the Apple is sweet. The feel and sounds when you touch or activate something. That is impressive. My daughters both only like Apple and I've no idea why. Their pictures don't seem to compare to my Note either, and they have 7's. Maybe there is something to them I don't understand.

    - This is a pretty cool new feature on the Note 8. You can take a close proximity shot and blur the background.

The pictures seem "crisper", more detailed. The color seems to pop a little more. Overall, I've been really happy with my iphone. The thing is 3.5 years old and still works great. I just can't justify $800+ for a new phone. That's almost Klim gear territory! lol

I don't blame you. I have to buy 4 smart phones at a time. It's not fun. Sometimes I just want to go back "off the grid" and minimalistic again.

Found a few murals as I passed through Marion, Virginia while riding the MABDR.

Yeah, we were in some heavy off-road today and last night. On the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway and the "KAT" (Kentucky Adventure Tour).

It is hot and humid. 90+ degrees. Hit this water crossing at supersonic speed to take a shower and cool down. Needed to rinse some of the mud off the GSA - and myself also.

Now that is some "KAT" shit right there. Scott scouting ahead. Trail conditions are very wet in many areas. Actually, this ride seems like a perpetual water crossing. Rode in more water on this trip than all of my previous riding combined. Pretty cool. Especially considering you cannot legally traverse any water in Michigan unless it has a bridge.
