    Hello

I'm a GTA area rider, new to ADV but with a couple decades dirt bike experience. I'm looking for some people to ride with. I'm on a DR650 and I don't mind doing trips on the slab but what I really like is getting off road. I would like to do some short trips on sections of the trans Canada adventure trail this year.

Is there anyone else in the area who's looking for a riding buddy?

Full disclosure I know very little about trip planning or anything related to ADV riding, that's my weakness but I'm very comfortable on a bike and have lots of experience working on bikes as well.

You might want to take a course like one from Clinton Smout at Smart Adventures up in Collingwood. Could also join the OFTR and hook up with the Simcoe County Adventure Riders.

Thanks for the recommendation. I think a course is probably out of the budget at the moment but I'm sure it would be really fun. I requested access to the Simcoe group but since my facebook account is not active I'm worried they may not accept me as I look like a fake account.

I think what @SSBB was referring to was SCORRA (https://scorra.ca), not a FB group. The other is the Ontario Dual Sport Club (https://odsc.on.ca).

I'm located in Oshawa and up for some fun. Only on a KLX250. It gets me around though. Ive spent a lot of time riding to the east side of Algonquin park. I'll ride anywhere.

Awesome. I don't think that my DR will go anywhere your KLX won't. It may even be the opposite!

Couldn't figure out how to personal message on this site but whatever way is best to link up on here you can let me know.

I am thinking of riding some more of the Trans Canada Adventure trail soon if you want to join on that. I do more day trips at the moment. Also near you is Ganaraska forest which I know my way around well and have wanted to take the DR into.

That's great. I do plan to join them on some adventure rides if I can. I met a lot of my dirt bike friends through scorra rides.

With this covid thing I've been pretty restricted to riding day rides north and east of Oshawa. I been giving it some thought re buying a ganny pass as this year is not looking good for riding up north..so far ! I do have a decent amount of unassumed roads and stuff to ride layed out locally but getting tired of that.

Well I'm still here. Had some good rides last year. Did the Ganny, East side Algonquin, Calabogie , Kawartha's and generally tooling around. I'm not sure how this year will work out as my back blew out.. herniated disc, a bulging disc and a slightly bulging disc with a small tear. Not been a good winter. I'm hard at work trying to fix it best I can. Got a couple of months yet

A bunch of us ride out from GTA and do several day trips and couple of week long trips every season.... focus is on getting off the beaten path and camp in remote areas. All of us ride 800-1000 cc adv... ping here closer when season is approaching and we can head out on day trips.

I'll jump in here as willing to ride this summer as well. Im down near London but want to do some overnight trips up near Algonquin, Muskoka, ect that neighborhood this year. I have an 800 and a 200 so I have options for type of trails. PM me if you want some suggestions for some routes.

I just recently moved to Kitchener from BC, will be looking for some riding options this summer as well. Weekenders plus the odd longer trip.

With the topology change from mountains to farm land I swapped my super duke for an 1190 adv.. not much dirt experience, so as long as things aren't too far past fire access road condition I should be fine.

Hey Guys, I'm located in Burlington, and just gotta ride to some place, the sooner and more remote the better, (no bugs) Perhaps we can hook up for a ride or two, been riding/retired since 2011, on a BMW12GSA, now on a KTM 500excf or KTM 690 EnduroR. Like more gravel/fireroads/camping....prefer several days or more at a time, cuzzzz the traffic around the GTA these days is a real killer!

I've been out a couple of times. Just backroads. My back seems to be alot better but I'm not risking wiping out on ice. I'll wait. I also have a difficult time using the P.M. so my email is b.kirby361@gmail.com. ride Klx250s.
