I need a filter for the 1970 Ducati 450 Mark 3 I am working on. This looks like it would be a god one. How do I order.

I kid, I would not expect you to make a filter for this old of a bike. It is a small oval filter. I will probably just get some foam and wrap around the cage that I do have.

Something like this but a bit more round.

And this is what it fits:

weeerlllll I know this will cost me "me reputation", the guglemonster KTM fanatic pushing Beemers'air filter first, but sometimes you have to follow the bloody machine !!!

now, we started working on Air filter in November 2017, 't was pretty easy, formulas are there, I could invent my own stuff, but as you say, the more pizza on the plate the more beer to come, and so slice after slice and keg after keg, I decided, after only 5 month from launching the ULTRA4 Air Filter to change it, and a lot too

what started as a great filter to tour the world, is becoming a project for desert race

how did I implement the media?

well, first of all, how did I check how good my filter would be in 10 years of desert touring??

quite simple, I built the HAVOC Machine

    call it RAGE against SAND

    serie a.jpg

this is a premiere, I shall right an article on my blog soon enough

what you see is part of a long cycling, filter saturation, washing with simple water, air blowing, than again saturation, until you reach a certain air volume......

and than you design/select the ultimate media (erm... sorry, I said the same 5 years ago for fuel filtration, and I developed since that sentence 5 different medias.... I'm not basically a layer, I just happen to love to surprise myself with new inventions :)) [for now] for Rally Raid air filtration

the beemer are already traveling to their owners, KTM 1190 is doing the last tour, but I have the final part on my desk :)

@Themastermike, yours is already in the box :)

    cheers

what???? you wnat to know what went through it?? weeerrrrlll I collected all in our X media fuel filter, below 8 microns, at this surface saturation approaching 4 microns

this is talc guys :) women powder is thicker :)

    @guglatech

I won't be riding in that much desert dust and probably not talcum powder, but send me an invoice!

as far as I could check the 1290 all have the same airbox as the 1050, so the drawer type and perfect application ;)

all but the early 1190 can mount this filter ;)

    cheers

I think what he is saying is that it DOES FIT the 1290 as well as the 1090 and the later generation of 1190's which would be the 2015 and later models which have the two piece wedge filter clamp.

    Hi,

you don't remember what kind of airbox you have ;)? ;)

just joking ;) but as far as I know only 1190 until 2014 have the hinged type one ;)

code for the proper airbox in ktm is 60306001200
you can simply check it on the ktm spare parts db, as far as I could see on the ktmversand site, the 1290S has the correct two parts airbox

    thank you @jttele

it seems that my English is getting worse with the Time ;(

    cheers

ohi, just in case you were wondering how we test the filters.....

    upload_2018-7-15_11-1-35.png

what came out of this???? collected in our filter bag in the vacuum cleaner??

    upload_2018-7-15_11-6-36.png

    very very little :)

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

yes, yes, I know, not even in a sand storm it's gonna be that intense...... but than again, also our fuel filters were tested the hardest way and nobody complained about that

    c85df1ab5efa242150481187.jpeg

that's 40.000 km dirt in 250 cc petrol...... aint' it also brutal !!!?????

so :) be happy we are so extreme on our testing, this means only that our products will outlast anything you can throw at them !!!!!

    Hi @jttele

the airbox post 2015 is ready, the pre-2015 has worked 3 out f 5 times

I tested the new filter "dry" without putting sealing grease like on the other applications, in 2 cases out of 5 dust found it's way around, so used the common system to smear the lip of the filter where is pushed against the airbox wall and all following tests were perfect.

I know, all aftermarket filters use grease to seal, I wanted to be totally green, but this airbox won't allow it

with greasing of the lip filter is 100% tight

    sorry for my paranoias guys

    Hi @Themastermike

was it a fruitful weekend or did you have to lawnmower the garden?

any chance to hard test the filter yet?

    cheers
