Filter is installed, still putting the bike back together. Will finish up tonight.

Filter slid right in and looks good.

As far as hard testing..............there will be none. This is my over the road (some being gravel) machine. It will not see torturous conditions.

Thanks for the quick ship on the filter.

and we're back............... but not only !!!!!!!!!!!

    https://blog.guglatech.it/en/articl...ter-the-first-wet-dry-air-filter-in-the-world

we finished the hardest testing of our media

let me present to you the real potential of our ULTRA4 Rally Raid

THE FIRST AIR FILTER IN THE WORLD WET&DRY

the special media design, allows a fantastic filtration efficiency DRY, but with a few drops of oil for "old" tech cotton filters transforms it in the most impenetrable barrier also for sand and fine dust

this is the first Air Filter in the world that will adapt to any condition and adventure

    a few drops of oil

the usual HARDEST FIELD TEST IN THE WORLD IN OUR HAVOC MACHINE

and the rear of the filter to show how amazingly good it worked

you can just see how little oil was used, but not a single particle of dirt or dust !!!!!!!!!!!

cleaning? also WET? few drops or home grease remover, NO ALCOHOL, and back on the bike even if still humid,

    it ain't a miracle, it's WAY BETTER

    It's GUGLATECH TECHNOLOGY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a foam air filter on my 2017 KTM 1290 Super Adventure R... I hate the mess, and they are hard to get clean and oiled proper or at least I have always seemed to have an issue with it. If I put the stock KTM air box back on, what type of grease are you guys using to seal the lip of the air box. I assume that is where the leaking is coming from on these boxes, correct?

I would like to go this route of the Ultra 4 air filter.

    Thanks

from our experience and also hard lab testing the after 2015 airbox is airtight in all conditions, with the RATS (havot machine) we tested DRY and WET WITHOUT grease to check the perfect dimensioning of the filter.

however, for fine sand application we recommend a lite "finger" greasing with simple lithium or silicone greas, if you look at the pictures, it was used both below the lid and around the frame, mostly the weak point is the bottom part, where the wedges are trying to twist the fram of the filter, UNI has a much harder and flat frame, easier to twist tha our triangular soft fhaped one.

as for the oil, we have tested some brands, we have almost reached the final verdict, as for now, any good brand cotton or foam filter will do the trick :)

do not use solvent, just use a nice home grease remover, no alcohol, here in Italy Chanteclair is very famouse and it's really amazing :)

for dry use, only water will suffice :) always contrary to the air flow :)

    thank you

    cheers

I’d agree with the air tightness of the newer air box. Just opened my 2018 box after 5000km of mixed on and off-road, nothing on the intake side of the filter!!
