It had to, because I was about to cross Spain in one day from the northern Atlantic coast to the Mediterranean coast again. It was the 14th of May - my friend Verena’s birthday - and the “jour fix”, because Verena wanted to join me on my trip through Spain. We were supposed to meet south of Barcelona, by a little town called Cunit.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

I agree with you for riding that africa twin and live a free and probably happier life. The world is big and there are a lot of people want to do adventures like that but contented reading ride report like this because they simply can not afford such a life style and adventures. Enjoy it and ride safe!!

You'll enjoy travelling with the BMW, just yesterday a friend stopped by on his way to Sardinia/Italy - riding a 1200 GS - great bike! Have you seen "long way round"???

I'm not shy at all using languages evan if I only know a few words - so using those few words and hands I get along with english, french, spanisch and italian. Last two languages I keep mixing, cause they are a little bit alike...

When Verena and Heico (a friend who took her with his car and trailor) arrived I had just prepared dinner. Perfect timing.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Yes, I love the GS. I hadn't heard of Long Way Round until you mentioned it and I googled it. I've gotta see it! It reminds me of when I go somewhere now, I want to take the long way home.

Next morning Heico left for Germany again, and Verena and I took off to experience Spain.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
Now let me stress: Since I left Germany the weather mostly sucked; I had lots and lots of rain - it was mostly cold with some snow in between.<o:p></o:p>
From the moment Verena joined, the weather was great. So if you plan to travel and you want good weather I recommend you take Verena along!!!:deal

We went though rice fields, saw areas away from typical tourist places and people applauded, when they saw us on our fully packed bikes. The sun was shining - it was hot - and I loved it after all that cold weather!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>

Beneath my protection clothes I wore a Bikini. If you are a woman, riding along a coast - I highly recommend, that you wear bathing clothes, it’s great to rip off the protection wear at the beach and jump into the sea to cool off a bit.<o:p></o:p>
I always had a tiny towel in my tank pack.<o:p></o:p>
