Hello everyone, I have been cleaning up the jetting matrix hosted on my google domain. I made some new graphs for comparing some of the information. The graphing functions are limited but it does help visualize the data accross the whole set. This is no longer editable and if you have alterations that you would like to make please contact me at ken@advmachines.com Cheers, Ken
You are welcome! It is always good to have good information. I have also made the assumptions that if there is no data entered in the "air jet" cells then they are most likely stock and therefore I have entered that data for those who did not so we can get more detailed/correct graphs.
I leave it as it was originally designed. Small washer on the bottom, large on the top. The needle is not a big deal EG: If I was happy with my mid range, but I was running a bit to lean up top I would go up one step in my mains, and move my needle from 3 to 2 to return to my previous mid range settings, I would also knock my IMS up 1/4 to 1/2 turn to replace the lost fuel from the pilot circuit due to the needle movement. I only move the needle in 1 clip increments.
I wonder how different the jetting settings would be if i used your settings in Australia? Where do you guys buy your jets to make these changes? I'm using the unifilter and open remus cans and would like to smooth it out alittle.
Thanks!! I first saw the revised speadsheet and saw those monster size mains you were now using. I was like WTF! Then I scrolled over and saw you were now using individual K&N"s so that made a lot more sense.
And how well do you think this wallmart filter filters your air? I wo'nt cosider this on my bike exept on a track use SM.
When will you ever be happy Did you have significant fuel consumption benefit's using the k&n and no box? You could try to make a bigger snorkel for the standard box, that could make the restriction less perhaps? I want to cut the standard snorkel and mount an XR600 air filter on top as a pre filter, easely cleanable, unlike the Uni I Think the glove box can be retained then as wel, not like the dakar bike which had somewhat the same filter. That way water crossings wont much be lowered like the uni dous as well.
'Splain this to me then CM. Why did the factory race team use the airbox in their intake equation (with a pre filter)? Certainly, they could have come up with something less restrictive than that same ol' hot air balloon, EPA/EU sound deadening, power robbing, hot radiator air sucking thang on their pure race bikes. No dis-respect toward your expertise here. Just "interesting" to see our familiar hunk o' black plastic on Meoni's #1 Dakar Rally bikes.
