Oh, it's still windy and blustery up here.

I had to cover my garden. Again. And turn the heat back on.

If I wanted this crap, I would have stayed in Western New York. :dirtdog

Reddish Knob. Nice place. As you come down off the knob the Forrest Road to the left is a fun one, very doable on an ADV bike with decent 70-30 tires or better. Rode that trail a couple of times in October. Out of most of the Forrest roads are not too bad. Vepco Road being the one that was most difficult. I would do it on the Twin.

Is the Camp ground there open?

That was a nice Facility, really enjoyed it.

VEPCO has some great views and isn't all that bad on a bigger bike. If you come back down off Reddish towards 25 and cross straight over it is a nice ride doable on a big bike up to the turn off to go down Dunkle Hollow. That is a great ride also and doable on a bigger bike if you have some experience and confidence. Done it many times on a GS and Tenere. If you don't make the left to head down Dunkle to the lake, the road gets very tough. A rocky downhill which isn't too horrible to go down but harder to come up. I think it is marked as Flagpole Road on the maps. I couldn't take a big bike there but some better riders do.

I know the campground in Brandywine is still closed, because of COVID. I think the Nat Forrest official campgrounds are following the state guidlines but I am not sure. Camping inside the Nat forest just boondocking I think is okay.

There was a long hill climb coming up Vepco Rd before you hit the peak. It was long, steep and covered in cobble stone. I struggled there on the KLR. It just did not have the power to climb slow, and keep it from stalling. Too much speed and you bounce off the rocks. It was a good time anyways, i want to go back on the Africa Twin.

Trying to gauge some interest in a moto camping trip. With all the rallies being cancelled, I figured we could set up our own "Rally". So doing some research the Willville camp ground is back open as of the 15th, so there is one option to camp from. I also have property in Buckingham County off of Route 60 about 50 minutes from blue ridge parkway. I figure if we can get a handful of local guys and make a weekend of it, or plan for a 3 day weekend. Open to other ideas, all I know is I NEED to do some moto camping soon..... Nothing like getting out in the wilderness and enjoying some good camping and riding.

Yes! Union Springs is the one I wouldn't do on a big bike. I was calling it Flagpole. Dunkle Hollow to the reservoir and out to 33 is very nice.
