Not familiar with that. Sounds interesting - - what’s it all about?
It’s to reduce engine heat transferred to the rider when riding in stop and go traffic on the air cooled Big Twins. Likely unnecessary on a water cooled engine like the Pan America.
may be unnecessary, but I bet the inmates in AZ and SoCal will appreciate it!
Just got back from my second Pan Am ride. I still maintain it’s a fantastic bike and I love that engine. With that being said... they quoted me 27500 out the door with spoke wheels and adaptive ride height!
I have one thing to say to that. They are out of their god damn minds!!
What Texas dealer quoted you that?
One located in Bedford. First time I rode the bike at the demo I was so excited for Harley. This is a bike I would actually like to own for the first time. The MSRP made sense too. I was very scared they were going to Harley it up and somehow make it 30k out the door. Looks like I was right.
Thanks! That dealer is about 10 minutes from my house. I never had good luck buying any new bike, price wise in DFW. I have had more than one dealer over the years, tell me they can charge MSRP plus all kinds of adders because enough people live here that someone will buy the bike at their price.
Never had that problem with my KTM dealer.
I don't own any KTM's. These were Japanese bike dealers and I was buying new current models that were in I guess high demand.
I always thought it was to reduce overheating in the back cylinder (but could very well have been wrong.)
You need to share this with corporate!!!
I'm not paying any extra in upstate NY....and the sales tax is only 8% lol
Deal fell through with my friend (they sold it out from underneath him) but here are some pics of it next to a 1290 if anyone is making that kind of comparison.
The seat has a lot of plush in it and in person it looks smaller/narrower than in the pictures. Seeing it move and go it sounded like it was well put together, from some light moving it while on it's side it felt noticeably heavier than the 1290.
And people say the front of the Pan America is ugly. I prefer the Pan Am.
lol, No bike in this category is winning a beauty contest!
They're all beautiful, to us.
If you buy it above MSRP you can add that amount to the regular depreciation when you sale it. Ouch. I was in Texas Harley today just to see if they had any. They were setting up a display with one and said they had another but it was sold. They guy I talked to seemed enthusiastic. I told him I rode a GSA and he said they were great bikes and had experience riding them. He said they had more Pan Americans on order but didn’t know when they would get them. Should have asked the price.
I still can't find anywhere that calls this feature out as being used in the Revolution engine. Can someone point me to it?
