Why would they go with chain drive? Harley knows a thing or two about belts, the Uly used a belt too.

So what do we think the bike is going to sell for? I'm thinking $17k-ish. Am I way off base?

The Ulysses was known to occasionally snap a belt when a rock or piece of gravel got caught between the pulley and belt. Belts continue to improve, but a chain is still tougher. :nod

Belts, chains and shaft drives have their advantages and disadvantages so the factory chooses which fits the products usage and design goals best.

Added: No chain drive is as almost maintenance free as a belt drive, no belt drive is as efficient as a shaft drive, no shaft drive is as cheap or easy to maintain orrepair as a chain drive...it goes on and on.

I’ve never been attracted to HD bikes, but this prototype doesn’t offend me. Will it weigh more than the S10?

I heard people speculate yes and I heard people speculate no but I haven't seen or heard one spec come from the bikes maker yet.

Thats exactly where I expect Harley to fail on this bike- Value. Not build quality or capability or anything like that.

There is just no reality where they sell it for ~12-14k which is IMO where they'd need to price it to make the ADV crowd tempted to give them a chance.

Lots of people fed up with the company nowadays, more and more by the day switching to something else. I see a lot of GS's in harley rider groups nowadays even.
