We've been on the road for a few days. Haven't really taken any decent photos of the bikes but the subject matter is what counts here PXL_20210728_154457173.jpg PXL_20210728_154909856.jpg PXL_20210728_154721229.jpg

I had a LRS for a day, and it was a blessed relief to get back on my Road King. The ergonomics of that softail were dire.

Are you going to Gary McCoy thing in October? Be good to meet some people. Met a few at Frosty Dingo.

    What didn't you like?
I ride a street bob and sometimes wish I went lrs or sport glide for larger tank and different ergos.
Or the ultra classic for more cush.
Im fairly comfortable and done a few 500 mile trips on the bob, but the seat/bar position is uncomfortable after a bit.

Even with the "mini apes" my arms are almost fully extended, in hard cornering I have to bring my self closer to the tank and really point my elbows up to feel like Im in control.
Going to go with 6-10" risers and some moto bars to remedy that.
The foot controls are supposed to be mids, but feel more like "forward suggested" and sometimes I feel myself scooting around on the seat to get into a comfortable position.

    Great photo !
I have bought an FLSB and after an 8 week wait it is at the dealer 180km away (110 miles?). I will be calling in tomorrow to finish the paperwork and have a look at my new bike but circumstances dictate that I can't pick it up until next weekend.
I'm more excited than a dog with two dicks.

My knees were higher than my hips, and my arms were dead straight. A much taller seat would do a lot, but then they couldn't call it a low rider.

I loved hearing all the "techs" say how well the Lowrider S handled. Invited one in particular to follow me down a twisty road on the Tuono so he'd have a vague frame of reference. When we got back he said to me "you're crazy.....why aren't you dead?" To be honest I wasn't running all that hard so he could keep up. Well that and he was on a company owned machine.

I don't care for the seating on the Softail line either. Barely take the stock touring bikes. As mentioned above the damn seat's too low. And the bars? Well it's a Harley isn't it?

The softails don't fit me either, but ergo are a personal thing. I had to add the "Tallboy" seat to my ultra just to get reasonable leg room.

@johnwesley Please post a ride report with photos when you can. I have nothing planned for the next three weeks.

i can try to do that, pics for sure. I’ll get something started and try to finish it. Typically I never really finish a ride report cause once I head home it’s just gas and go till I’m at my front door. :muutt

This was how I rolled from Quantico to a rifle competition in Tennessee, winning the Service Rifle State Championship using the rifle on the left. Got in a two way shoot-off for the Wimbledon Cup at Nationals weeks later with the rifle on the right. Got second place. Ride is an ‘02 FXDWG3

How did you transport the rifles? Rifle case or just slung over your back?
