If you get a chance, try an AirHawk seat cushion, or one of the new cheaper rip offs advertising here. I find its a lot better than foam or gel.

while I sit here and wait for parts, decided to do some weight reduction. Removed the black rubber bumper from the rear fender

For the style I’m going with, the aux lights have to go. Man are these heavy! Just need to figure out what to do with the turn signals.

Hopefully will have time to give it a good wash over the weekend and check the cam chain tensioners.

You'll want to pick up the bracket to keep the muffler/saddlebag supports stable. Otherwise they'll bounce and vibrate a lot. Enough to cause stress cracks in a fairly short period of time.

    Here is an example:

Fortnine's youtube channel featured some fork-leg mounted signals with a goofy name recently.

Turn signal mirrors were my solution. They are standard on newer V-Rods

I have the Kurakyn turn signal mirrors on my V-Rod and they actually let me see behind me, which the FPOS stockers didn't.

Kids in school finally and a gorgeous 72°F day of blue skies. We had to sneak out for a few hours.

Took a break on the way home from a work trip at Flat Run Veterans Park in Cynthiana, KY for a quick round of dic golf.

This bike has really been a great solo mid-range touring rig! If I ever start riding more than 400 miles on a regular bases I'll need a different saddle, but its good for current usage. I took Route 62 all the way back home this evening. Made for a great ride.

The brakes on the Road King were dangerously spongy, so I just flushed and bled the front and rear brake fluid.

You think I coulda let it go a while longer? :yikes

Beautiful loop through the GSMNP and the dragon today, it was jacket weather in the morning.

Did someone mix DOT 5 with DOT 3,4, or 5.1? I see brake fluid that looks like that a lot on Postal LLV mail trucks since they spec DOT 5 which is very uncommon among vehicles these days and someone dumps DOT 3 or 4 in.

No idea, but the master reservoir covers say "DOT 5 only" so that's what I used.

Did about 120 miles today. Brakes still feel a bit spongy, so I don't think I got all the air out...
