You're going to run out of Mexico soon, or maybe a run up the east side? Guatemala on the radar?

Firstly, hats off to Jet Jock Jim, Yuda man, Jim.

What an entertaining read on this cold day up here in da Mitten (Michigan). I began reading the report this afternoon and have been glued to the screen ever since. What a harrowing experience with the Sicarios, I'll admit, I had to fast forward a page to ensure you two made it, shewww, lol. Thank you for taking the time to share your trials, tribulations, exploits with us.

I have a bad case of Cabin Fever and have been dreaming of riding Mexico for several years. I might know about 10 Spanish words. Would it be difficult for me to travel in Mexico with such limited Spanish vocabulary? How long can a U.S. citizen travel in Mexico before exit?

I have a doc appointment second week of February, but then would be able to travel Mexico for months.

If anyone reading my post would like to meet up and tackle Mexico as a team, I'm game. I enjoy camping, though, every 3rd night, I want a shower and bed.

Flyingdutchman, please forgive me for posting the above in your RR, with the amount of traffic your report has, I thought I'd have a better chance of finding a like minded person who's apprehensive about traveling in Mexico alone, as am I.

    Cheers!

I am sort of afraid to go any further. What if I go to Guatemala and Mexico closes its border? Or Guatemala closes its border. I dont want to get stuck anywhere. In Mexico, I can always return to the US.....I am guessing.
I still have so much more to see here.
    And things to do.

You only need to know 5 words in Spanish
    Cerveza
    Taco
    Bano
    Puta Madre

Americans can travel visa free for 6 months. Just stop and get a tourist card at the border for $30
Good luck finding your unicorn traveling partner

We are traveling thru the coffee region of Oaxaca today. We went from 90 degrees at the coast to freezing our tits off up at between 8000 and 9000 feet in about 100 kms.

I was told yesterday that to get back to Canada, one needs a Covid test. I am guessing U.S. will follow soon.
How is the coffee in Oaxaca? You guys must have burned through the bag I gave Rad.

Ed, do you have an updated page for the essential tools, clothes, paperwork that you carry on board?

    Thanks

I’m not positive (but pretty sure) that above pertains to “flying” into Canada.
I live at border crossing from MN, USA to ON, Canada and if I were in US on my motorcycle and heading home, once I pass the US customs office and get halfway across bridge, I’m “in” Canada but not cleared customs yet.
I can’t go back into US (it’s closed) so would have to hang out at their counter (Canada Customs) forever if they didn’t let me in. (They would, With strict quarantine requirements.)

I think would be similar heading North from MX to US.
Most civilized countries won’t deny their legitimate citizens entry.

Hopefully /\ /\ /\ is applicable if you guys have to get home.
Key words subject to interpretation could be in that statement :jack

pertains to flying only and a Canadian citizen returning via land can still enter without a test but has to quarantine for 14 days.

I can see the mod you did to the cow head real well now....Plenty of free air flow for the cooler! No restrictor plate . :lol3

Maybe some led lights for the eyes next...

Is the cow head the 50kg magnet that the 'magic string's was/is?

I'm certain that given the description, string is better smelling when wet.

Heckofa view from that mountain top. Sure brightens up my bleak winter view here today. Thank you.

That's actually a great price for Mexico for a Mitas! Nice.

Seems those E08 are mostly sold out in the US.

    Same rear?

No on land crossings to the US you just come in. People have been going both directions this whole time with no restrictions even if it's stated.

I am now traveling on my own.
Rad has to work during the week and i want to explore. And I am feeling like a 3rd wheel.
Ultra thin walls last night in our separate hotel rooms confirmed my decision that it is best i go my own way.
Not upset in any way with Rad. A touch jealous perhaps.
Rad needs to start heading back to the US as well to get back to his job. So we are only parting ways a week or so early
Heading out in to the mountains of Oaxaca
I need to find my own unicorn
