9B474DA7-9929-438C-8C2B-CFA9F5867579.jpeg 3782 miles on the rear E-07+ and this is what the tire looks like. Of course you can continue riding on it for quite a bit longer. However I did not want to head up the Dempster with it. TKC- 80 was my best option at the Yamaha Shop so that’s what I went with. The shop had a wide variety of 17” tires not so with the 18”. I Hope this helps with tire choices on long rides. I would not consider the Mitas E-07+ tire a choice for me any longer.

I remember I was here also. I came down on a snowy rainy day. Took me 16.5 hours to make it all the way back to the Klondike Highway. I have merino wool long underwear. Actually I have three pair of long underwear with me I had two of them on all day yesterday.

Not really certain to be honest it gave me enough range to get me to Deadhorse in 2018. That is a 253 mile stretch before the next fuel stop. I still had about a gallon of gas in the tank. That was at speeds between 45 and 55 mph on the Dalton . The RotoPax I carry is the 2 gallon.

You should be good on the Dempster. Gas up as close as possible before heading up, then get gas at Eagle Plaines, Fort McPherson, and Inuvik.

Well...now the fun begins. Was there last year this time. If the weather is good and the road is dry, go as far as you can stand it - time the ferries. If the weather breaks and starts raining, you are done. You are not going anywhere but a stretcher and a tow truck if you temp it. The road liquefies, into a formula of calcium carbonate and marsh muck, slicker than grease and deep. We got stuck in that last year for a couple hundred miles, didn't think we were going to make it out.

you can make a small cut in your heated liner where the hot spot was and cut out the wire connection and make a new connection. the hot spots are caused by the connection getting loose and drawing to many amps. it is a simple fix to re connect the wires. it is best to connect the wires by crimping them together.

So here is how my day went today. Up at 2::00 AM On the Dempster traveling North by 3:03 AM. Rode to Eagle Plains had a nice breakfast not sure of the time but it was still pretty early. Rode the rest of the way to Inuvik. Dumped half my gear at the hotel. Hoped back on the bike and rode to Tuk and back to Inuvik . Am now back in the hotel pecking at this keyboard. However the internet here really sux so photos of the day will have to wait until I get back to Dawson City .
