I take for granted we'll see some SUN in the photos???? Glad you made it.
I didn’t take to many photos as I was kind of busy riding. Here is one at the Cardlock at the corner of the Dempster and The Klondike Highway .
Here are the Cardlock instructions. You go inside the little building to swipe your card.
For you people that like to eat Eagle Plains serves up a nice breakfast.
I read just this morning that there was no gas there at the dempster and Klondike. Said the closest gas was in Dawson........25 miles could mean a lot to me on my little bike this trip!
Here is the bike in Tuk
Here is my foot in the water. I kept my shoe on because the water is cold
FWIW, two years ago I had my credit card hacked at the card lock fuel station in Haines Junction.
I know very common. I check mine almost everyday
There is gas there I am at Eagle Plains right now. I ask some people if they filled up there. All have said yes.
There have been some people life flighted off of the Tuk road this year already. Be careful parts of that road are really really soft.
It has been raining on The Dempster in spots for the last two days. It is raining at Eagle Plains as I type. Supposed to rain tomorrow from about 4:00 AM until about 10:00 AM. I will let you know how that works out.
Looking down on the McKenzie River heading south on the Dempster Highway
Good morning from Eagle Plains
congrats!! hope to make it there someday too.
How is the road condition? Like a gravel road or more like a dirt road with some gravel?
How were the flies, mosquitoes, bugs?
Is gas in Eagle Plaines, Ft McPherson, Inuvik all manned stations or just card reader?
I'm going on the Dempster in 3 weeks 7/10-7/14. Hauling the bikes to Dawson City.
