    and my personal favorite ...

I even tried doing that on a motorcycle this year - its not easy! ... and imagined getting a dozen guys on bikes to re-inact that scene on the mongolian steppe ... but on bikes.

Hollywood? I'm a little surprised that you Mongolo-philes have not mentioned the Russian production that was hailed at Cannes 2008 "By The Will of Chingis Khaan". Good luck tracking it down, it won't be showing at your local sometime soon. Ex-travellers to the region will appreciate the cinematography. A grim, dark epic not for those with short attention spans.

No CGI BS, subtitled from Russian(/Mongol?)

Unknown to me, my lady with the help of my son put this RR into a large book for christmas present, wow what a suprise that was!

There are so many fantastic reports here on ADVrider and wish I had the time to read them all, we all take our inspiration from somewhere or many places, if I took inspiration from all the reports my lady would be mightily pissed off:D

Yes, this pic is up there with my favourites from the trip:thumbup

I have just found your report and i'm about a third of the way through and loving it! :lurk

I also ride an 1150GSA SE (in the states) and would love to ask you a couple of questions about your bike, but not as part of this thread, huh? Would you care to include an email address in a PM?
