I'm after some advice. We Mrs B and I are in Bunbury and WA has just locked down, that's OK but Mrs B is in the Hospital with a broken leg in 3 places. We came over for a friends 60th b/day and have been having a look round while we were here, we stopped in a parking bay for a drink and she stepped backwards onto a rock and went down. After some coaching I got her back onto the bike and we headed off looking for a hospital. Anyway she is in surgery now and we need to get back to SA. I was going to hire a van and put us 2 and the bike in and drive us back but I've had a ring around and no one rents vans or cars to travel interstate so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on getting us home when the border reopens. She will be out of surgery soon so I will have more of an idea about her travel abilities then but the orthopedic surgeon seems to think that there will be screws and maybe plates involved. Meanwhile I'm booked into the c/van park relaxing.

    Ouch.. sorry to hear.

I'd contact the rental car relocation mobs.. https://www.imoova.com/imoova/relocations, https://www.transfercar.com.au/, etc.

Often campervans available - which may squeeze in a bike (I'd ask for forgiveness, not permission).

If you're flush with cash - Indian Pacific ?

Make sure you go through your medical and bike insurance with a fine tooth comb to see if you're covered for transport costs.

Oh - and U-haul do one-way trailer hires.

Have a look at www.imoova.com they do one way car and camper returns, can be as little as $1 a day and a trip like that they often contribute money for fuel, maybe you could get something with a tow bar, buy a trailer for the bike then sell it when you get home?
I see there are a few Perth to Melbourne, maybe you could drop her off on the way through, it must be easier to get to ADL from Melbourne for yourself after?

Mrs is just out of surgery so about to go visit her and get all the details, see how long before she can get out, thanx for the offers and suggestions.

Ill look into it some more tomorrow. Luckily we don't have to rush back to SA.

I got nothing much going on ie nearing retirement and I live in Bunbury. Hire a car and drive your wife home, I'll come for a ride with you on your bike. Once your home, I'll drive the hire car back. Nice drive in the country

Just thinking, you must have a heap of junk (wifes helmet, jacket, sleeping bag and stuff) lying around. I'm happy to offer storage and assistance to move said stuff if needed. Send me contact place or number if you want to talk
