I am in England, currently southern Wales. My Triumph Tiger 800 XC has 107,000 miles on it and is ready for some service.

I will likely be heading north towards the Triumph factory and other areas tomorrow, then wandering around looking at whatever seems interesting at the moment, maybe ending at the Goodwood Revival races about the 14th of September before heading to the mainland.

I am looking for a place where I can get parts, and a place where I can do the work. Optionally, if I could find a good, inexpensive mechanic, I suppose I could let someone else work on my bike for a change. I think the only parts I need that are not Triumph OEM parts would be the Chain and rear sprocket.

Things I NEED to do NOW:
    -Chain, Sprockets
    -Coolant
-Check clutch to ensure there is no issue as it seems to make a rattling sound
    -Valve Check/Adjust

Things I SHOULD do Now or soon:
    -Fork Oil
    -Rear Brake Disk

Will Have to do at some point:
    -New/used front Rim
-Oil, not for a few more weeks I think
-Probably a few other things I cannot think of right now.

Holy crap, I just looked up the cost of a new wheel. Bike is not worth much more than that. Will be looking for a used one somewhere.

    Hi Bob,

Our mutual friend Ronnie G recently directed me to a post on your blog about the Glenelg Ferry, great isn’t it ;)

Okay, onto your servicing problems... you’re a long way south of me and I’m in the middle of a slow house move so my workshop is split over two locations, neither fully functional. Things being otherwise you’d be welcome to hole up here while you worked on your bike.

You might want to try putting out a call on www.bigtrailie.com and/or www.adventurebikerider.com. I expect there are plenty of riders in the south who’d be happy to help out with either workspace and tools, mechanic recommendations or offers of the used parts you need. Inmate @boboneleg might be worth messaging, he’s from down south, tell him I sent you :)

Chain and sprockets, fluids, etc. try www.wemoto.com

    Enjoy the ride!

Thanks. I can be anywhere, but right now I am a bit mentally scattered. If I can get parts quickly, there is someone nearbye that offered a shop that looks fantastic. But I will keep you in mind if things change.

thanks for the help and advice. I have a place to do the maintenance work right now, and will save the wheel and possible clutch adventure for a bit later.

Great price for two. I wonder if they could be split up?

    That's what I thought.

Maybe you could send him a message and make an offer on just the one

Oh, forgot to mention. I was helped out by a man to the west of Blackburn, Lankashire, UK. He has a shop in his garage and charges very fair prices and knows Triumphs. Took care of my bike very well, I recommend him if you are in the area. Over on facebook: dene.hughes.9
