    Nice!

Did you need to rejet the carb at all?

I've budgeted for a new rad dual sport in '13.

The Beta is at the top of my short list, I like all of the mods that were made on the '12 model!

EDIT: Saw Vern's pix, and your blown shock, ouch!

I should remind you Earl that my '09 has a KTM motor so it's not what you'd be getting in a 2013. I haven't messed with the jetting at all and she just purrs anywhere from 0' to '8000.

My blown shock turned out to a blown clutch cover gasket. I thought it was the shock so for the whole ride I rode like a sissy (not that there's anything wrong with that :shog).
There was oil on the rear rotor so braking suffered.

Great video as usual Toast. :clap I agree with Nowwhat. After the ride I thought, " yeah that was a pretty good one". After watching the video I thought, "Man! That was an incredible adventure!"

Thanks again for havin' a loop with me fellas. :beer

Lucky bastards! How cool would it be to have this terrain in your backyard....and after following the Dakar race you can jump on your bike and go twist some throttle and pretend you are a Factory KTM(Beta) Rider making tracks!

Right, you have the RFS engine with a Keihen FCR.

I've read good things about the DOHC Beta engine, seems like no one has had any major issues thus far, and Betas are doing well in off road racing.

Gaskets are cheap and easy to fix!

    Johnson Valley is awesome!

Any news on this? Does it look like the Marines will end up with the place or not? I love JV and would hate to see this amazing riding area lost.

There is supposed to be an offical "Statement of Intent" I think is what they called it, soon. I forget the exact date. Sometime between now and Aug 2012.

I'm not too hopeful so in the meantime, HERE'S the ride we did out there yesterday.:clap

    Brent,

That was an awesome ride yesterday with you, RAZR, MXBundy and Kap.

I'll take one day out there with the riding we did yesterday over fours days in DV any day. That place is just EPIC!

I've raced and laid out quite a few races in JV and think it's a very hard place to beat in California.
DV was great, but riding in an open area is true freedom. Sad to know it may be over soon. Rode through Red Mountain on the way home and it's a clapped out piece of shit due to overuse.

+1 on both statements John. It's really going to suck when and if JV becomes a bomb range. :cry
