Some friends and I rode the Kentucky adventure tour earlier this month and here is what happened!

But first I would like to thank ADV member Jeff @ TheQuadShop for all the hard work putting these outstanding tracks together!

Here we go! We started on a Saturday in Slade Ky.

IT was not long until we were on some good gravel.

There were some strange artifacts left here by the natives on the trail.

They had lots of rain lately so there was no shortage of standing water.

The trail would often open up to some high speed gravel!

    and free range horse crossings!

Stopped for a break before we rode into W.V.

    To arrive here

We rode 180 miles that day from Slade Ky. to Williamson W.V.
More to come...Got things to do.

Hey Mudaura great start to the trip post!
Thanks for taking the time to document it and to be our GPS guide and trip coordinator! I'll be the first to cast my vote for you to play the same role on our next adventure!
Also want to comment here what a really cool Hotel the Mountaineer is.
The folks there provided outstanding, friendly service, clean, very nice rooms,
Lots of history, just a really nice place to stay for the night. The wings at the sports bar right down the street were good too. Dont recall the name.
Anyway keep up the post looks great!

Day 3, Harlan K.Y. to Jamestown T.N. and storms due in the afternoon!
We split up on some of the red sections and this is where we caught up with each other.

A log we crossed on a red trail on Pine Mtn.

EBR made a log ramp while I just wheelied right over it!

Not really, I used the ramp too. :rofl

Here is a long vid from that red section, it's a bit compressed so it gets grainy at times but you'll get the idea.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H7qweYhLpx4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

More stuff along the way and so much we didn't have time to take pics of,caught up in the ride as usual!

Burnt bridge outside of Jamestown T.N. and rain is about to start.

From there we raced to the Jordan motel in Jamestown but still got rained on.

202 miles for the day, tomorrow more off road and rain, maybe some mud too!

    Day 4 Jamestown T.N. to Williamsburg K.Y.

We were looking at a lot of rain in the following days so we did the best we could, we knew there were a lot of creek crossings coming up so we would reroute if we could not make it and not flood a bike in the process.
This will be a light milage day too.

Not lost, just need to figure out which trail to take.

    This is the one!

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/v8vlcFwliyE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I was day dreaming here and ran off the road at the :43 second mark.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MJ-VlH_hDwk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

We took more video than pics due to the rain.

More creeks swelled to a river!

Several small passible creeks, forgive the rain drops on the Gopro.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lFAQXhr-tGM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Really fun off road section in this vid.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/45QKN8jqB7g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Only 104 miles today so we made it to the cabin pretty early.

Tomorrow we will fight more rain and creek crossings, I'll update later today.

Day 5 takes us from Williamsburg K.Y. to Mckee K.Y.

    lets start with some gravel!

Then some off offroad, Thanks EBR458 for posting all these vids on Youtube!

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/256c5zUGHPc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Then a impassable creek crossing.
You need to turn right and ride up the creek a bit then turn left.
It was 49 out this morning, the water probably wasn't much warmer and looked fairly deep. Reroute!

Were in luck, we can cross this one!

Only to cross another creek and get stopped by another crossing thats too deep.:huh You can see the creek that stopped us in the begining of the video below, we cross again twice on our way out.

    <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2NNt-meWBK0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And then on down the road to find this,
We could have made it but they were several more crossings up the road, the water was rising and still rainig. Move on!

On to Mckee just 5 miles away we hit another snag!

    Uh,Oh the authorities!
They didn't like that we were looking to go through.

    We went around it.

And on to Mckee..Again and this time we made it!

We rode 160 miles that day and it looks like more rain tomorrow.

Day 6 was a very short day only 66 miles by design because we had to get back home and needed to get done early.

As luck would have it we left out on the leading edge of a thunderstorm and rode it all the way back to slade. We cut most the track that day.:cry

Waiting for a break that never comes.

At this point we ran the highway in, only 48 miles this day and it was all worth it. We will return!

Thanks for reading and thanks to EBR458, Justarida, Down-N-Gout and Mudduck83 for coming along!
You guys add to this thread whenever you can and post anything I missed, I know there is a lot.

The ground was very saturated and lots of paved roads were washed out.
For those of you thinking of riding the KAT, look for Cannons ride report too, it's a great one!
