dude, go to autoanything.com and buy a tent that goes into the bed of your truck. that's what i'm going to get and an air mattress that fits in the bed as well so my son and i can do this and the slap ride and well do some camping rides later in the fall as well.

How much paved vs unpaved? I have a about half wore out 50/50 rear tire on a KLX250 which is fine for gravel and hard pack dirt not so much for mud.

"decent but not banzai pace along with some of the best riding the area has to offer."

What is a considered a decent pace?

Which would be more suitable for this ride?

Kawasaki KLX250 50X50 tires 175 mile gas range.

Beta XTrainer stock tires and 50-60 miles gas range, I hate riding it on pavement with the soft tires.

KLX - 50 miles is not enough range around here. We had a problem with 100 mile range today. The gas station at the country store where we counted on filling up was out of gas!

    Probably 75/25 gravel/dirt vs pavement.
A decent pace is 35-45 mph on gravel or dirt.
Your tire will be okay as long as it hasn't rained recently and is muddy. Some of the uphill climbs can be tough if muddy.

Thanks for the gas clarification a prior post mentioned something about not passing on gas fillups as the next might be 30miles so I wasn't sure about gas stops.
I should probably just throw on a new rear tire but I hate taking off half wore out tires as they never seem worth putting back on again just to wear them completely out.

My last trip to Ar before getting the DS bug I saw many places that looked interesting but difficult to get to on the GL :loco Perhaps that was the start of my DS bug. Just beyond the gate the road turns to rutted dirt with some neat looking camping spots just above the banks of the waterfalls.

It was the first weekend of April and was 20 degrees when I left home and didn't get above freezing until I hit Mo, Now I would rather just trailer with the heater running if need be:clap and ride when I get there. Now I just want to get back down there:hmmmmm

As of today it's calling for a 40 percent chance of rain on Friday and Saturday.

I would not let that stop me from coming to ride here because its so good!

By Wednesday we will have a better forecast. :)
