    UPDATE 01-22-18:
I had a nice chat with the two guys at Heritage USA Ozarks Report (formerly The Hub) who are in charge of renovations and getting the place up and going again and it looks like we are a GO to stay at The Hub in April.
I WILL POST A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR RESERVATIONS ON OR ABOUT FEB 1ST AS THEY ARE NOT QUITE READY YET.
    PLEASE STAND BY.

    UPDATE 3-3-18:

Hotel reservation number is still not working.. I will visit the location today to see if updates..

    UPDATE 3-9-18:
    Reservation number is working now!

    When: April 20-22 2018
Heritage USA Ozarks Resort Contact Number: 1-800-976-0887
    Ride Fees: NONE

All makes, models and types of motorcycles are welcome to attend.

Okay folks, its time to once again schedule a dual sport and/or road ride in the heart of the Ozark Mountains between Harrison and Jasper Arkansas on some of THE BEST paved, dirt and gravel county and national forest roads and trails in the entire Midwest region!

This event is very loosely "organized" in that we set a weekend for it to occur and you show up ready to ride! There is no entry fee, no dinner, no T-Shirts, no prizes, etc. just plenty of superb riding in the Ozarks.

I have scheduled this with Heritage USA Ozarks Resort so they have a block of rooms for us to use. These are "first come, first served" with an event rate for this so be sure to mention the Hillbilly Dual Sport ride to get it.

The restaurant *may* be open when we are there. The motel *may* have a fire pit so we can sit around and shoot the breeze if renovations are a the right stage. Tent camping sites are on the grounds too. An air compressor and bike washing is available too.

Food is also available in Jasper and Harrison, both of which are about 10-15 miles away.

Newton County is a "dry" county but fortunately a mere 1.5 miles north on HW 7 there is a brand new liquor store and two gas stations.

If you have never been to NW Arkansas to ride I highly recommend it.

If you plan to attend, please post up here so we can get an idea of about how many will attend.

More info posted as it becomes available.

Gasoline is available at the following locations but not all will have premium. Most will offer "real" 100 percent no-alcohol regular. If you are low on gas and pass up a place that has it, shame on you because the next location may be 30 or more miles away!
    Jasper
    Ponca
    Deer
    Nail
    Mt. Judea
    Dover
    Compton
    Piercetown
    Kingston
    St. Paul
    Combs
    Cass
    Oark

Please note that here in Arkansas we don't spoil the natural beauty by putting up cell phone towers so cell reception can be spotty or none at all!

I had a great 2-3 days riding same area 3 weeks ago, I’ll be more than ready for more of that in April.

That would be nice. I think I still have stuff that hasn't dried out from the combination of Hillbilly and Slap. LOL

So, for those that don't normally ride in the area, will there be some dual sport tracks available?

    UPDATE 12-22-17
Houston - we have a problem!!
Just got word yesterday that The Hub motel and Scooters restaurant have now closed - for good so this throws just a little wrinkle in our plans!!

I am searching for other venues in Jasper and Harrison to host our little rally so please stand by for updates.

Yeah the hub was pretty neat for what it was. The food and people running it were great. Last year was my first hillbilly DS and apparently last one at the hub :dunno

When I was thru there last summer it looked like the old Dogpatch grounds had been sold. Is that part of the reason for the Hub closing?

Not sold.. Leased to Heritage USA.
It may be related but most likely Debbie and her husband got tired of the full time job of running and keeping up the place..

The both mentioned that to me last April.

Really interested in attending. Not sure if I would be better off bringing my YZ250R or my Super tenere. Would be driving up from OKC.

you can have fun on either but I would recommend the smaller bike for maximum fun....

We won't be riding any single track on the routes I will lead but some of it is narrow and kinda rough so the smaller bike is easier to handle on them..

Fuel range is definitely the biggest issue for the YZ. Unless it's single track loops of a lot of gas stops, I won't have the range.
