This thread is a collection of Logging Historic Sites & Equipment.

It got started with finding WigWam Burners to use as a reason to set up adventure motorcycle tours.

It’s always nice to add a theme into a ride.

There will be multiple posts set up to divide interest.

There will also be routes made to string the sites together.

    • Wigwam Burners, also known in the east as Bee Hive Burners.

    • Steam Donkeys

    • Logging Sites
    • Logging Trains

    • Miscellaneous Logging Equipment
    • Log Flumes
Know of any location of any of the above? Add them to the thread and I will add them to the list.

A big hand goes out for jump start to this project to Collette.
Copy pasted info from her site.....hope this is ok Colleette...not making any $ off this, just sharing the fun.

Camp 18 on hwy 26 east of Portland. Lots of logging equipment, onsite including a high line setup and giant bandsaw.

Logging Museum in Brooks Oregon at Antique Powerland. If you go during the "Steam-Up" event you can see their steam powered sawmill going and some gigantic chainsaws...like 12' long, 2 man saws.

The High Desert Museum south of Bend used to have some interesting logging history. They run a demo sawmill in the summer time as well.

GREAT IDEA for a thread! I love pointing out the springboard holes in old giant stumps in the woods.
