The NWAT (Northern Wisconsin Adventure Trail) was laid out by ADV's very own Cannonshot. I've had my eye on this route for a couple of years now. But now we get to ride it. We leave on the 14th to test our bikes and ourselves. Nothing to dastardly, nothing to tough (well maybe a little). Last years ride into Colorado, Utah and Wyoming will be hard to beat. But we'll give it a go anyway. Those of us that plan on riding the NWAT reside in or near Fayetteville, Arkansas land of the University of Arkansas Hogs. Go Hogs! The riders: Bill aka: The Toyman (on the left) Jim aka: JaiDee Albie aka: Albie (on the right) Charlie aka: Drz Charlie The entire route is over 900 miles and we will be staying in motels, resorts and cabins this year instead of camping. This is mostly due to the sand on this trip. We will try to keep the luggage weight to a minimum. Stay tuned we will start posting as soon as we get gone!
Looking forward to reading about your experience on the Northern Wisconsin Adventure Trail (NWAT). You guys are going to have a blast! Take lots of pix! Hope you have a fabulous ride.
I was going to email you that we were getting ready to head out. Guess I don't have to do that now. We'll be sure to bring plenty of pictures back. Any last minute sage advice?
Turn around now while you still can! Stay away from people in cheese hats! That's all I got. You guys have fun. I'm jealous.
Never trust a water hole on this path. Some of them have deep dug out ruts and other obstacles that are not visible. One might be riding the center and put a foot down to one side only to find the water to be much deeper than anticipated. Some riders from IL that ran this a week or so ago might second that.
Have fun guys. Enjoy the sand. You might consider taking the TWAT to Bayfield, WI and then take the NWAT. I just got back for that area.
You guys are some tuff ole "Hogs" This is where "experience" will prevail over stupidity--I'm still in the stupid stage I think sometimes !!! Have a great ride. BigDog
Mark, I guess I will find out what I am made of. I'm getting old so this may be my last rodeo in sand. I hope I can endure it. We will see I guess.
Can hardly wait to see how things turn out. This is a ride I want to take sometime on my Yamaha XT550.
What's this "I hope I can make it" stuff? :eek1 I'm not carrying you out Buddy! I like you and all, but.... We'll leave you for the skeeters. Course Albie's a more compassionate soul, so maybe his attitude is better than mine. -JD
I guess it's all up to the sweep to clean up. Unless its orange LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have been thinking about that sense posted. Why would you or anyone carry HIM out, what redeeming characteristic does he have?
Sounds like a great trip. Bring plenty of DEET, the skeets are horrendous this year. But all the rain we've had should keep the dust down. Ride safe. Cheers, Dave
