Day 2 and you're already lost?
Aren't you glad you didn't go now?
No, I still wish I could have gone. I really don't mind being lost.
Let me know what direction ur headed,
whether back home or on out there in the wild.
Still trying to get out of here Tues and catch up.
I was really feeling bad about not being able to join the Dingaling Brothers Circus on the TAT till I looked out the window Saturday morning, then when I looked at the satellite images for the weather, then when I thought about who actually ended up going, then.....
But I'm confident you're all having a great time and am jealous. I have no doubt you'll be coming home holding your sides because they're sore from laughing and that you're truly on an "Adventure" ride.
Have a great time guys and ride safe.
On the other hand, I just got through figuring out my return route from the east coast move the daughter to D.C. trip and discovered I'd routed it along the Dragon. Plus going through Tellico Plains. Sure wish I was taking the bike instead of the truck! Guess I'll just have to make the best of it.
We're not lost, which really is just a state of mind anyway. We are not at work, we're in the woods around the campfire with great friends.
Oh, and we're pretty much setting our days rides based on weather (not very successful avoiding it) and good camping spots.
Weather ruined the TAT idea, so we decided just to wing it. Great times.
Some of the crew will head back to the house tomorrow to avoid getting drenched again. All day in the rain sucked Sunday.
Pictures will be coming.
So now we know who the real Rainman is. CHARLIE!!!
Whew. There for a while I was thinking it was me.
I saw a rain cloud earlier today
Whew, I'm beat. Charlie, you did an awesome job routing "on the fly" with the whiny bastard (me) and the rest of the motley crew in tow. That was the oddest TAT attempt (N-S) ever, with more pavement than anyone wanted, but not much choice to run away from rain.......
...you da man.
Much fun was had by us, thank you guys for all of the non-planning that was done.
we literally were pulling into the driveway here at home when the clouds opened up.
IM tired and sore, and covered in oil ( busted a fork seal this morning it appears)
So is everybody home now or did you leave a straggler or two out in the woods?
I figure the group beat Parker and I home.
We stopped at steel creek and the ponca low water bridge since he did not remember seeing those places as a child.
I'll bet Parker had the time of his life and has some tales to tell his buddies. :eek1
Good on ya Dad!
Good to have y'all back home without mishap.
I did not say that.
I can though, say that Albie has a positive attitude vibe, that I am envious of.
and he packs up camp pretty damn fast too.
Indeed! Defines happy go lucky....or maybe brain dead? :huh
Seriously, he followed my lead at Mach Magoo all the way from Kingston to Elkins...gotta be torture for a road racer.
Do we want our ride photos and video here, or on the ride report thread. Lemme know, I'm working on mine now.
Thanks for asking Charlie!!!! Let's not put them here, this thread is under the "Trip Planning" thread.
I had planned on creating a thread in "Day Trippin'", but given how truncated our ride was, I think it goes better in our Arkansas Ride Reports thread.
First person that starts the Ride Report on Hog Slop....put it in the Arkansas Ride Reports thread !!!!.....not here!!!
Well I had a blast even though things did not go as NON planned. Just ordering up my replacement final drive part for the DR. $6.95!
