Looks like a good time James. Did you ever get your vintage racer feet wet again?

I raced three bikes for two seasons. Retired from work then retired from racing due to money output verses return in marital happiness.

Oh Man....I spent a fortune that’s no secret. Big carb. Big valve head from XR’s Only. 12.5 Wiseco piston with overbore. Stainless pipes from Mikes Pipes. Silicon chrome valve springs, bronze valve guides. Carrillo con rod. Frame de-tabbed. Threw pounds of stuff away. Drilled holes in everything. Single rate fork springs. Drop in damper valves. Works Performance rear shocks. Oil cooler. Total loss ignition. Cut the stock seat pan down to almost nothing. Tomaselli clip ons. Spent around $4000 on a free bike! It ran and handled really well. I had to start it on a rolling road the compression was that high. I have quite a few detailed pics I am sorting through.

I think there's serious potential in hiding in my stock engine. Idle to mid pulls so hard, then it just dies. I was suspecting the carb may me too small, but have no idea what carb would be a good replacement to swap in. So, yeah, here to learn! :)

No did not happen. The Mrs and I decided to shelve that idea. Maybe for next year. We went to the Sunday race and it was quite lackluster...the biggest entry was the Honda 160cc.

Actually all the engine mods turned it in to a grenade. I'd be more inclined now to spend money on mild engine mods, good suspension and learning how to ride faster!
