So, if I understand correctly, adding extra weight to an already overweight, underpowered 250 means we are supposed to get smaller? Interesting concept. Riders should make up for the factory's inability to make a lightweight bike. Why didn't somebody think of that sooner? At least the price might be right. The 250 dual sport is about as dirt cheap a motorcycle as can be found these days. Which, no doubt, explains the heft and power.
I highly doubt they could put that into production and end up with a price that seemed right, for what it will end up being. It is pretty though.
EXACTLY! And now its gonna be heavier with all the CRAPPY plastic they added to it and its still gonna be too short and not fit a 6ft MAN!
I thought this was still in the concept stage. Does anyone besides Honda really know what powerplant they will use? How much HP it will have What it will weigh? I will reserve judgement until I know for sure. IMO, as I have said before, I think a larger powerplant would be the best route for Honda to go. Something like a 450. But that is just my wish list.
Yup. That would work. Except lowering links on a DRZ just make it bottom out even easier than it already does.
In one of the links in one of the threads it said it had a 10 liter tank, but I don't know how accurate there information was...
Bit of a bump for this...... But also a thought... The CBR which shares the same engine has just gone to 300cc.. As a possible new model the 300 motor must be a good bet for this bike too??
I talked to the local Honda dealer yesterday. I told the salesman I would put a deposit on one immediately if he figured there was a ghost of a chance of production. He said nope...not a hope...but he said he would take a deposit on the 1000cc Africa Twin..my reply..."not a hope!!" I give up...maybe Boss Hoss will come out with a V8 adventure bike...sure to sell like hotcakes to us North Americans.
Bringing this back to life in case Honda is watching. .... Put the cbr300 motor in this and i will give you my money. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
The Africa Twin is only 5 lbs lighter than the ill fated Veradero...which was a pig of an adventure bike. The AT is more attractive to look at I'll give it that. I don't suppose Honda noticed that the 390 Dukes were mostly sold out by spring. Honda makes top quality bikes but they always seem to be slightly behind trend.
