I liked the other fairing better.

    And make it a 300! !

(I'd probably want one either way )

I assume the Rally will have a larger fuel tank than the CRF250L. Hopefully it will fit on the L model.

"Now, Honda is officially calling this bike a ‘prototype for production’ which means Honda is vaguely talking about it going into production. Even though we know it will be on sale as a 2017 model later this year."

no idea what MCN's track record is on rumors but thats interesting. although for me, all it means is less work to turn my CRF500L dreams into reality. A 250 is still to small for me and lacks the extra cylinder for smoothness and vibe-free-ness... unless you're KTM apparently with that new duke 690 engine :tb

I don't think it will be anywhere near that bad.
    A stock 250l with a full tank weights 309lbs.
My 500L with a 3.1 gallon tank, a full fairing and 500 twin with full dual exhaust and Cush drive wheel weights 350lbs.
My guess is that plastic job might add 3 or 4 pounds and the same for the tank... So 6-8lbs over the current configuration.

    C'mon Honda...do this !
And don't bugger around about it either....give the full meal deal, non of this nonsense where it comes out with a 120w stator or some other deficiencies where you have to spend a bunch in the after market to make it work.
    I would buy one....immediately !!

If they trademarked it for the US we just might actually see it here...& those Givi stickers on the handgaurds leads me to think there may be Givi bags for it too..if so, it's a solid addition to the 'adventure travel' bike lineup in the US & looking as good as it does, it would do very well here...& a low seat height for those wanting a lighter/lower adv option.

Andy Downe's report in MCN sounds pretty unequivocal about it too...'17 bike brought to market by years end...let's hope for 286cc & side panniers to connect to those long side mount stud/bolts shown at the seat & tail.

Honda will get my money in a heartbeat if they actually go through with this. The adventure bike sector needs a good shake up (or wake up)

I just wish they'd do a 450cc version with the power of the 450X/R...then they'd get my money. I like the cockpit & the transparent front fairing/windscreen too..nicely executed & very functional with Speed, RPM's, & fuel level. Wonder if we'd see the 2-piece front rotor & the folding mirrors...too much to hope for methinks.
