FRIDOLIN: My friend from Berlin says the 6210 euro price includes the VATtax, and has confirmed this with his dealer in Berlin who has bikes, and will have them to see & touch next week. TTTOM: Well said RE: KTM BITING DOG: You could be correct regarding the single sided spring forks of the Rally, because why has Honda gone with an expensive fork re-do to put a larger stout front axle on the heavier Rally? When I sat on the Rally at a recent bike show the front suspension was nice and firm....and the rear suspension was soft and sagged like mad under 200# fat ass gringos!
200+ pounds is about what us American (30 miles away in my case) types weigh. None of the manufacturers spring or valve their bikes for normal sized gringos. Afraid that by the time you retrofit a Fox Podium shock, some CRF R forks, and a 300cc conversion, it's going to be a $10k bike. Now you're competing with a Husky 701, which may still need a revalve, but the actual suspension components are sound. Three times the horsepower could be a good time maybe? Definitely be nice on the road. *Nevermind. The 701 uses incandescent signals too
I am dying for a nice & chill dual-sport ride upcountry. Some epic mountains to ride, gorgeous scenery, good friends, and a deluxe Mile High Cheeseburger in downtown Pemberton afterwards. Sadly, everything is covered in snow
Honda haven't listed the Rally on their Kiwi inventory for 2017, I'm keen to see what $$ they go for.......we normally are the first to get new offerings, oh well, too bad never mind.....theres lots of whurrs about still
BITINGDOG: OMG what a gut buster. Wash that down with a fine porter, and collapse into a fine food coma.
I'll tell ya, it's made from organic beef grass fed on a pasture less than 5 miles away. No hormones, no antibiotics. All yummy beef. Fresh buns baked downstairs. It's a beautiful thing. If y'all ever get out this way, I'll take you there for a burger, my treat
Yes, that's the other option. I so want something halfway between the two. Hoping the KTM 390 might be the unicorn. And curious about the weight of the new XT.
Now you know I'm gonna hop on my 950 and drive three days straight across the continent and be knocking at your door at 7am. "Let's get a burger and beer!" Sean
Stock cases, changed only 5 parts all from cbr 300. Crank assembly, two balancer gears, balancer and clutch springs. 3 FMF parts: header, Q4 exhaust and fuel controller. Stock everything else. It is worth the effort.
OK, so some time ago Rick Ramsey had on his site that the 300 crank would not work in the 250 case. You've obviously shown in can. Were any mods to 250 case needed? Also, you bought the FMF fuel controller. Could you have run with the stock 250 ECU? Thanks.
I wasn't clear. The german price 6210 Euro includes tax and delivery. The offical price of Honda USA does not include taxes and delivery. So the prices are not comparable. The price in Germany without tax and delivery is 4978,- Euro which is roughly 5400,- $. Thats the price you must take. Pretty expensive in the US.
I got around to watching the unlock Your Fears videos. A lot of noobs would watch that and have confidence on their MC purchase. That seems like easy stuff to most of youall, it's been decades since you first learned to ride.
