    Hey Webbiker,
Just want you to know I'm closely following your blog over here in the states! Should be getting my Rally next month - excited to do some of the same mods you have.

I hope so for you and maybe North America can get some love. My dealer was supposed to contact me when he had an idea about delivery and I haven't heard from him.

If anyone wants to lower their Rally I would be happy to swap my 2016 standard CRF height suspension, it would probably save a load of money.

I haven't heard a lot from mine either. I even got blown off at the TO motorcycle show as he already had my deposit so he was hunting down other buyers. I'm wondering if ill get the free honda backpack that the people at the show got when they put money down????

Did your dealer have confidence in that delivery date?

For someone that already has theirs, are those funky hand guard things easily removable? If you were to put on BarkBusters with reinforcement for some actual hand protection, would you be left with some sort of stock bracket left behind or is it easy to get rid of the entire stock assembly?

It is easy removable, there is a bracket from the base of the sidemirrors that is easy to remove. The stock ones är realy flimsy plastic. Good wind (and lightweight) protection but no protection if you fall or hit something. IMG_20170327_055932.png

I'm wondering about the rear shock... The part number is different from the L and the part numbers of the L are also different from previous years.
I wonder if an aftermarket shock designed for 2013-2016 L will fit the Rally? Or will an aftermarket rear shock designed for the 2017 L fit the rally?

In short, do I have to wait for someone to come up with a rear shock specifically made for the Rally or will something else work? Anyone have any experience on this?

    CURRENT MODELS
    2017 250 L Cushion assy., RR. (SHOWA) 52400-KZZ-G41
2017 250 Rally Cushion assy., RR. (SHOWA) 52400-KZZ-J81

    OLDER MODELS
    2015 250 L Cushion assy., RR. (SHOWA) 52400-KZZ-931
    2013 250 L Cushion assy., RR. (SHOWA) 52400-KZZ-931

At a glance, all the other rear suspension are pretty much the same, so the only physical difference can (but may not be) be the lenght of the shock?

Ohlins is supposed to have Rally specific front and rear suspension replacements. Memory says May, but not 100% certain on the target date.

Been in contact with Hyperpro and asked for a heavier springkit. Nothing ready for the bike yet but they work on in. Was told to get back again in the end of april.

There is a new part in the Rally front fork:
    COLLAR SPRING (SHOWA) - 51402-KZZ-J01

I wonder if that is the only difference up front to gain the 1" lift?

Just had my dealer over the phone : suspension are swappable between crf250 L and rally, and with all year of 250L.
On new 250L there are some improvements on suspension, so parts num are differents.
If fitting suspension from 250L to a rally, bike may be lower but harder.
Rally suspension offers more travel length but is softer than standard 250L.
So in my personal case, I'll stay with rally suspension, as results will be the same if I'm changing suspension with an L.

I ordered mine :-) I will get it next week ! I need to order low seat now

How is the lower plastic holding up when rocks are thrown hard against it? Interested in seeing this bike but we deal with some big nasty rock kickup here out west in the US, even if you are just gravel running.
