No curiosity is the issue. Did Honda stop offering the CRF250L Rally in the US in 2019 and 2020?

I am sure that the 2020 KTM 390 Adventure, with nearly double the horsepower, will probably handle the road and highways better. But I like the looks and 21"/18" wheel combo of the Rally better.

Looks aside, this whole comparison will come down to how aggressive the terrain is that you currently tackle or want to tackle in the future. The 390 is much lower and the alloy rims, stronger than usual, still do not like square edged hits.

I wanted the 390 so so bad back when the spy shots came out around 2016/2017. And I waited. And waited....

If I were king, I would have put a 390 Duke motor in a 690 Enduro frame, made the appropriate adjustments and called it the 390 Enduro R.

But seriously, shop your riding style and terrain and match it to your bike choice. Even with the inferior suspension of the Rally, it still works like a true off road bike.

In my opinion, the 390A is in the camp of the 310gs, Kawi 300 and the CSC. If your adventures come remotely close to class 3 fire roads, I would stay away from these bikes, or judiciously choose your routes.

I came to the conclusion I’d rather get the slower Rally than the 390. The KTM is too heavy and I don’t trust the Indian-Austrian QC. Or at least I’m sure the Honda will be super-reliable.

I have a true and plated dirt bike for the nasty trails, so off-road prowess is not a primary requirement.

Again, I really like the looks of the Rally .... I just wish it was a little more highway friendly / had more displacement.

I have grown to like the little engine. It's a lot of fun evaluating situations and figuring out how to get through them with the small amount of power. It makes for a better rider with good technical skills that HP/Torque can cover-up sometimes. Yes I have had to pin it on the interstate and tuck in behind a trucks draft for a few hours but that so on the Suzuki DRZ400 also.

CRF suspension might be inferior to other brands, but with the low horse power it works ok over a broad range of terrain, stock wp suspension on ktm's and huskies are not the competition units they used to be.

That was an incredible video, rally aside, and I agree with your assessment having come from the KTM camp. I live in a huge state forest so my riding is about backwards of yours, but I like that when I am done because I am old and just get tired I can jump on a paved road and head home of to my destination, something the smaller KTMs were not good at. I give you a two thumbs up, three if I had them. Thanks....

Time to contribute. A buddy and I (street riders primarily) decided to get back into dirt.

That sand is softer than it looks. Buddy got his bike upright before I could get a pic but the evidence trail is there. Got his bent bars back relatively straight.
