Wolfman Peak Tailbag - the older style (not waterproof) one that I think has been replaced by a WP model.

This is the reason why I bought my Rally.

Wow, we're digging your setup! :clap And yup, the Peak Tailbag has been replaced by a WaterProof model--everything we have now is waterproof.
    Enjoy your ride!

Aaaaaaargh, just received a letter from Honda UK, recall on the gearbox, 2nd gear problem circlip / groove issue.
Well sick, as an Engineer in the automotive industry the last thing anyone wants is an engine strip and build.
Not a happy bunny.......anyone had a failure, or had issues before or after the fix?

When I bought my Rally (2019) in 2019 I wanted the 2018 on the dealers floor. The circlip recall was going to take 4-6 weeks or more to get parts in then perform the labor. The dealer found a 2019 on a semi truck out of state to sell me. I was somewhat happy with getting the 2019 and I'd skip a chance of a new bike (2018) being split before I got it. The circlip recall, at the time, was only on a run of certain 2018s.

Please could you upload a picture of the recall notice on your 2019?

My 18 [US] was one of those and that was the reason there were so many 18's for sale this spring. I have 5-6K on mine and no problems, but yes I agree you seem to be adding some risk.

My bike's a december 2018, but so far no problems.

I read something that a lot of manufacturers are going to cancel models for the 2021 year, due to strict E5 and abs norm, and some European countries allowing manufacturers to continue to offer new old stock models to sell for the 21 year.

Damn i'm only 230 miles from the plant in Bangkok, but its so difficult to get in there, or to get any answers from local Honda dealers.

Oh, my bike is a non ABS model, any other country have that for the 2018 year?

Euro 5 emissions and mandatory ABS laws on small displacement bikes like the Rally are highly impactful government regulations, and seem to be a darn shame for companies and riders in terms of what bikes can be made available...

I hope you're not right, @hookeniggy because this would mean these companies are actually choosing to not build and sell bikes rather than "battle" these government mandates...

Is there a grandfather clause in Europe like there is in the states for bikes that have already passed regulations?

I guess we gotta appreciate our gasoline engines while we still can and be thankful they are still sold...

It looks like the CRF250L has had a good, long run thus far; I really hope motorcycle models and designs are not too adversely affected by Euro 5 and mandatory ABS laws...it would be a darn shame if the Rally was killed off by government regs...
