Was looking for a nice re-entry ADV bike and was sort of hoping to find a 300 but they’re unobtainable in my area. Got this one instead! 2FE8EA29-6722-4464-BA2D-7B95501C66A6.jpeg

What's a sensible price? I have just started looking at these and there is a 2017 locally with 2400km's and asking $6250 with some accessories.
Anything I should be aware of with a 2017?

    Cheers

I paid $5750 and he threw in a cover for it.

Apparently, some of the early bikes (2017-2018) had a recall for a circlip in the transmission. Requires pulling the motor and splitting the bottom end. I called a Honda dealer with the VIN and he checked to see if the bike was part of the recall. There were 2 I looked at and both were not affected.

You will love it on dirt roads I loved my 2017 rally but it did not have enough power for the highway ride home,I sold it and bought the 300 rally and have no problem doing highway speeds and have do worries about a tanker truck running me over

I've always tucked in behind those trucks and let them suck me up to speed.

Too many trucks running into the back of other parked trucks here in UK for that to be a worthwhile money-saving enterprise...:-)

I bought it used. but it looks like noone touched it. the rear shock that is. I tightened prolly 2 full turns. I weight 155lbs and am going to do a trip where I haul maybe 35lbs of stuff. but bike is normally ridden with just small tail bag

There is no such thing as stock preload, it all depends on your weight and what you carry. From the factory, they can vary enormously.

At 150lbs you 'may' just get away with the stock rear shock on the road, but they really are a terrible piece of kit off-road.

You need to set the loaded sag followed by the static sag. Loaded (or race) sag is with you in full riding kit and any gear you carry sitting on the bike feet up (an assistant is a definite accessory for this). Static sag is with the bike upright with no load on board.

Plenty of articles in here and around the internet on how to do it...here is one to start you off. Regards, Brian
