    Funny how life is,
When JT got his drivers license,
    He hated driving long distance,
He asked me how I did it ,
As we would be last ones to leave MO and
Most other Road Race tracks and I’d shower them and put them in there jammys, drive all night while they slept, pull over an hour from there school feed and dressed them and dropped them off at school by 8am,
    Many of times,
I have no idea how I did it but for only one reason,,,,

I loved racing,,,,the people, my family,,,
That old 76 Ford camper 460 28 ft and enclosed trailer could tell you stories forever,
    If it could talk,,,,

    I don’t regret a thing about it all !!!!!
As I say, the first 2 Hours suck driving,
    The next 24 are easy,,,,,

And fall color’s are or should be at peak level,
With cold nights the last couple days,
    And gates are open,
Funny how I subconsciously rested the last couple days and did not no jt was coming in,
But my brain did,,,,funny how that works,
    And I never fight it,,,

    Sorry to ramble but,
    It is Marrs. :hmmmmm:norton:fpalm

Hey NEPA I don't know about riding better than you...Maybe in the deep woods on a good day...but you schooled me on the dirt roads on the 450!

The diode should only pass DC voltage in one direction. If it's marked with a arrow and a stripe then the stripe is negative or ground. So if the stripe is connected to +12DC then it will block it or be turned off. If you reverse it, then it will turn on and pass positive voltage in the direction of the arrow.

Glad she’s feeling better. Hard to watch your kids go through breakups and challenges. You have remarkable kids and grandchildren, you must be so proud :-)

Two of us spent five days riding out of Kanab, UT, and returned yesterday. We took the big Africa Twins and also the light bikes, CRF450 and KTM 500. While I think the best Utah riding is a bit farther north we had a great time, and we finally had a chance to put eyeballs on the pickup stuck in Bull Valley Gorge. Ugh, bad scene for those boys back in 1954!

    https://utahadvjournal.com/index.php/a-death-in-bull-valley-gorge

We did have a good time though. On the Skutumpah Rd/Deer Springs/Cannonville/Cottonwood Canyon route, about a 150 mile loop, my 450 got 67 mpg! Freakin' amazing!! Yeah, it was scenic cruising, but.......

Yep 300 I had diode I’ll send you what it was,
I wired/soldered it in between hi/lo hL and did get one light on switch 1 and both lights on position 2 of switch,
Funny I had dc hooked up through rectifyer but no battery and did not light lights,
So put 2 wire reg in it in ac and all lights good,

Took it out last night with jt, he was afraid to ride it lol
Lights are good if your 3000 above,
I ohms things out and found bee stripe to low beam
    Soldered and shrink wrap them,

    Great article in American Motorcyclist
About David Aldana almost like us growing up, but I was not that fast as an expert,
But getting there and later in life we would
    Understand and relate to it.

Ahh, dat's Carter, not me! But he's 63 if memory serves. As for me, knee a LOT better but five days of camping and rough roads means back and shoulders are complaining.... 'Could be worse!

Yeah, the L seems really sorted now and I don't ever feel any flat spots when twisting the throttle. Coming off idle you still need an educated wrist but there is no herky jerky issue. Cat and baffle mod is a good one!

I have that plate, but haven't flopped the 450 yet. The stock clutch is doing fine so far, especially with the Magura hydraulic lever. My father was a truck driver back when you had to be a REAL driver, and he taught me to be e a s y on the machinery. Right now I'm resurrecting an old DR650 as a guest bike; it's stone age iron, but I do love that engine! Changing some tail plastic and lights, and trying to find what is keeping the brake light on all the time. 'Should be simple, but so far ........

Hey NEPA! Today as you know was kind of, or felt like the first cold day of Fall. I don't think we broke 50 where I live and started out in the 20s this morning. Figured it was the perfect day to take out the 450 lol! But I noticed something from the minute I touched the starter button. The bike seemed to idle when cold better and pretty much ran a bit smoother today.

The garage was cold, down around 50 degrees and generally anything below 70 i need to cycle the key twice before the bike will run with a steady idle on it's own. I am NOT using the enrichener circuit and never have.

But today the bike fired right up and idled strong the instant I hit the magic button. As if the ambient temp sensor or whatever the bike uses to compensate for cold Temps really added a bit more fuel to the mix than normal. Seems to me there must be a threshold that today's cool temps crossed and the bike ran a bit stronger all day.

They will be saying u must be from Marrs !!!!
But I’ve rode and BS with you !!!!
And I no you can tell the difference in a
1/4 turn of a air screw/comp/reb or the difference 3 mm does on sag !!!!

How many miles were on L when u started it
    That day ?????

Glad u felt it, I could write a lot more but,
I think we need to talk like bench racers
    And figure this out !!!!

Do you remember the old CR owners manual
With the jetting charts in them with a big line across them side to side,
    They were close ,,,,,
Almost like the sensor is tuned ,,,,as that graft

Oh it goes backwards from what u felt just before it rains or as rain stops ,,,
I thought it was the AIT but I’m sure it’s something else,
The L did the same as you felt no matter
If it was a stock ECU,BP,JD or Vortex controlling things, plus miles on L
I tried shrink wrap on BP sensor to see if weather would change tune when it got the
Wet farts after a rain and even moved probe
But maybe it helped a bit or delayed how it felt but not for long,

than the wet farts from ex and a lag in throttle
Came or went just as fast as the wet farts did,,,
Glad I’m not the only old rider/tuner lol

The ODO read 2970 when I started it in the garage and experienced smooth strong idle right away without having to cycle the key...

Now that I am thinking about it...I did just do a oil/filter change and went from 10W40 to 10W30 for the first time...Same brand full synthetic. Did not ride the bike after the oil/filter change.

So those were the two variables...a large decrease in the air temperature and the switch to 10W30.

ODO clicked past 3000 on this ride.
