You are correct. I just received my X pipe header and FMF Q4 for an X and will be installing it this afternoon. That was why I had the measurements of each head pipe. I also know that the Q4 has an extra tab spot welded on that must be broken off or bent to fit on the L frame.

FMF Q4 (insert to remain in) and X header going to be installed. Booster plug and stock air box configuration to remain stock for now.

I'm starting to think about a flywheel weight to smooth out the low speed herky jerky.

I thought the booster plug improved it. I went on a family ride. Family ride being a slow ride. The fueling was still a hand full, in a day of mostly sub 20 MPH. The Vortex is a last resort. I want to keep the ultra quiet stock pipe.

    Then I found this:

Wish he gave a ride report.

Honda red and Beta red are very similar! I’ll bring my 390 up in the Spring and you can take it for a spin. :ricky

FMF Q4 (insert to remain in) and X header installed. First, am impressed how quite it actually is. Just a little louder than stock. Measured almost 1 dB louder idling in the garage. A little more power and responsiveness as well. Running a Booster plug and stock air box configuration.

I measured about 6.5 pounds and dropped and that includes removing the L header and replacing it with an X.

I rode a 390 for a few miles on Cinnamon Pass and I was pretty impressed with how linear the power was and how balanced and nimble it felt. Nice bike for sure.

Yes. That is to align the heat shield. The heat shield for the X head pipe is different from the one for the L head pipe.

Just picked up my L. Out of all the accessories you have purchased for yours. What would be the first thing you would purchase for a new bike? I'm thinking the seat would be it.

What @KICKNBACK said along with better tires and closely followed by Vortex and exhaust. All bikes need the protective bits so that's a given.

I asked him to make a video showing how to check the valve clearances and he said he'd get to work on making one. Awesome!!!
