Your results sound great. Would love the extra power of a full pipe and vortex but the more MPGs I can get per tank, the further I can ride.
I'm assuming you get the smooth throttle you're mentioning, along with close to stock MPG?
Did the tuner correct the lean factory settings and help the bike/exhaust run cooler?
    Notice any power diff?

I don’t really fret over the actual MPG number. I’m after being able to define a range as most of my riding is done very remotely, (no cell service) and I ride by myself. I’m in the 49-53 MPG area, depending. With an IMS tank I figure on average I have 150-mile max range, and I’m looking for fuel at 120 just to be safe.

Bike is noticeably cooler. I can’t BBQ a brisket on the header anymore. But be advised the stock can holds heat. You’re not going to change that much.

My midrange now will let the bike walk right alongside the “piped” guys. To a point. My midrange isn’t quite as broad, and I have less up top. Which I don’t need, or want, in my part of the country anyway. My target was smooth, tractable power that I could ride all day on a multitude of surfaces...that will still ‘shit & git’ when I need it to. I didn’t want to build an all-out hot rod. That doesn’t lend itself well to where I ride and how I use my bike.

Don’t get me wrong; a Vortex and a pipe is the quickest, no-brainer way, to max power. But that’s not real useful for me. Especially in the woods, or on ugly, rocky, sandy, logging roads. I’m fine leaving top end on the table. So I guess it sounds like I’m a ‘bicyclist’ if I’m reading this thread correctly. :jack

That is some lush riding for sure and I agree 100% that’s not where you want top-end that is where you want controllable grunt. But to add to this, the vortex does have adjustable maps so you can change from a power monster to a more trail friendly power so it’s a little more versatile depending on what your riding. For me in the open desert and rocky washes I run the bike more on a map that’s for sand and torque on the upper end. As far as mpg goes I’m looking for gas around the 120 range too and curve my rides to fit that mark otherwise I put a gallon rotopax on the rack for that extra just Incase what’s that over there day.

With the Vortex I've seen as low as 37.8mpg in best power map on the throttle a lot at high speeds and as high as 53mpg in enduro map hardly ever getting out of second in the woods.

Looking at a new rear sprocket and chain. Torn between the Rental Twin Ring and the Dirt Tricks, any suggestions? Was thinking about adding a tooth or two out back.
