Fuel Filter questions. Manual recommends R&R filter every 1800 miles.
Do most of you follow that recommendation or push beyond that? I realize YMMV with fuel cleanliness awareness.
Do any pre-filter fuel with say a SplitStream type system?
In looking a Honda parts catalog, the fuel filter is sold as part of a kit ($55 + shipping) with tank fuel sending unit to tank packings..
Is there a source that anyone knows of just for the fuel filter? As many have the IMS tank and the packings would be on no use.
For myself I’m not worried about it until at least 10-15k I think Honda learned from KTM about the maintenance game where they treat every bike like it was a race bike and every part should be changed at short intervals to keep ahead of the competition. Are you going to rebuild the motor at 20k like the manual says? No not unless it’s burning oil or the piston is slapping around in the cylinder. Just change the oil and the filter every other oil change clean air filter regularly lube the chain and adjust the tension.
When you clean the bike put a wrench on a few things to make sure they are tight and look it over and just ride it don’t over think it.
every other year for a FF sounds reasonable, that's what my CRF will get.

Well,I also have no tunning skills,but I've never seen ,even a F1 header tanted that blue,10 inchs out of ex port, only idling,or stuck and wfo ,
If headpipe that blue,that close to port,what's valves look like,overlap on cam does that at idle,man maybe your just a Wildman ,wfo 0 to 1/1,good for u,sucks for valves, ,, but than ,air is diffrent on mars,right SMFAceE ,,,that color scares the shit out of me,but I'm not u.
Well,maybe it's to rich,that color is not normal ,color is to short,,but than,it's my theory,so ,have at it.
Ok, you’re judging from the header pipe color. I did first ride on the new pipe set-up with stock ecu and a booster plug (was too lean). Now have the vortex on so the overly lean issue is now gone.

Light duty LP holder clean-up job.
Is there a known weakness with the chains shipped on these bikes? Like kinks and o-ring issues?
My stock chain lasted maybe 600 miles until I tossed it. Kinked up bad and not smooth.
I'm sure it cant be all the mud I ride through... DID 520 ERVT has been a great upgrade.
Money down on the L and waiting for delivery. Just about to order a seat concepts seat from the US as there's none in Aus (that i can see), and noticed this peculiarity:
Does this mean i just need to ride with pants on, or will i need a lead gusset sewn into my underpants before i sit on it? Or does it mean just dont eat the fuggin thing? I wouldnt have bothered with a vasectomy if i new a quick spin on the bike was going to be just as effective....
