No.. I don't really do those organized fund sucking capitalist rides..

I ride for fun not to make others rich.. I can't stand how those guys profit on charging people for riding on "mostly" public lands.. oh wait I forgot you get a free granola bar and a water bottle plus a t-shirt that costs extra.

Actually most of the Hammer Run is Private land. But I understand paying way too much for it. 7 Mountains in PA was probably the best for cost vs. What you get. The shirt they gave you was as much as the entry fee.

Hence me choosing my worlds wisely..
    "Mostly".
    "Somewhat".

It absolutely makes me laugh that so many people think that the only time they can ride in the PB is during a paid limited participation event..
But I could show up and ride right next to everyone for "most" of the "track" they were given.

Then ride "most" of that "track" 364 other days of the year.

Indeed. Especially out in Brendan Byrne or Wharton, but as I am a member of the club that puts it on and a few of my friends will be riding. Wanted to see if you were heading up. Maybe one day we can go ride some of it if you come up this way.

I do live in the boonies. But I would put a Vortex on the 450 in your honor.

This is the time of the year when a few of the local riding clubs have their Fall Foliage Runs. Usually I'd only have the opportunity to do one or the other due to work but since I'm not working at all figured the sky's the limit. Unfortunately all annual group rides have been cancelled due to you-know-what. I don't have a dedicated street bike anymore so the "L" has been doing double-duty on and off road though it's kinda not a real Dual-Sport to me like a KLR is.

I took off around 2:30pm for upstate NY and did a Honey Hundred (actually 122 miles) through the Hudson Valley, Bear Mountain and Harriman State Park. The Fall colors are just about peaking right now so might do similar next week too. Lots of nice twisty roads that made me wonder how this bike would feel with true street tires on it. Ironically another 450L converted to a street machine pulled up next to me but just so the rider could wave. He turned around the other direction, just wanted to say "Hi" I guess?

My MPG is much, much improved with the TwinMax filter though the OEM one was so dirty from Pine Barrens escapades I can't really say it had anything to do with Honda's filter vs. TwinMax? But I'm back up to 55-56MPG on pavement which helps immensely with the stocker fuel tank (plus an MSR bottle in the tailbag just-in-case).

On my way home (all highway) I took a short run to Tuxedo, NY to see if the abandoned landmark "Red Apple Rest" was still there, an old gathering point for me and my friends before heading into the woods.
    Yep, still there:

We just got a new shipment of tires in , and a Motoz RALLZ 150/70-18 was in the crate.

massive compared to the 120-18 RALLZ on the CRF, BTW the CRF tire has about 2ooo miles on it, and still has an about 8mm of tread. The RALLZ is a good BDR or TAT tire IMO

Ran into a fellow dual sport rider on the beach today. He had a heavily farkled 2014 CRF450X, it was nice. Turns out we know some of the same people. Hope to link up and ride with him soon.

Bike is loaded and just a few more things into the van before heading to the Pahrump Rally, by way of Moab! Have to check out the new Ford Bronco's at the 4x4 Expo for another riding bud. Then to Vegas and Pahrump. Oil changed since my Wyoming trip, and dirt tires and gearing back on. I added a second strut to my light weight bumper carrier by shackeling a 2x2 tube to the van frame. Same thing for my Jeep, but the tubes are different of course. It really stabilizes the carrier, and makes carrying the weight easier. Now, hope the Highway Patrol doesn't stop me because the truck license plate is obscured. I'll carry zip ties in case they give me problems, and I can move the plate to the front wheel of the bike. I do have aux lights that are magnetic, and go on the carrier tray. They just aren't installed yet. If I'm taking just the small bike, I keep the van clear inside for camping.

    T7 CLAIMED DRY WEIGHT: 412.3 lb. (187kg), T7 CLAIMED WET WEIGHT: 450 lb. (204kg)
    790R CLAIMED DRY WEIGHT:417 lb. (189kg)
    450L CLAIMED WET WEIGHT : 289 lb. (131kg)... 270 lb ish Dry

if you want a light adv bike, the 450L seems to fit the bill if you really want light...

I'd call the T7 and 790 Mid Weight Adv Bikes, YMMV
