Well, there's 6 of us so far and I am hoping we can find or inspire a few more people to join the very exclusive club!

That is like saying it is hard to believe a DR650 is taller but lighter than a DL1000!

cant really compare the two bikes. clearly the crf1000l is not an offroad bike.

Now which one of you is going to attempt to stuff that AT1000 into a CRF250 frame? Who's accepting this challenge? :imaposer

way back when i first had the idea of a engine swap i was originally thinking of using a R6 engine, but it was way to wide, any 4 cylinder engine would be to wide, and heavy.

i then was considering a versys/ninja 650 engine, but they were too tall.

i also was thinking of using a ninja 300 engine which in hindsight would have been a better engine ( less weight, similar power).

in the end i settled on the cbr500r engine due to its smoothness, flat TQ curve, fantastic fuel economy, 87 octane, low service intervals, and ease of installation

Wouldn't be surprised to see the NC700 motor in one of these soon. Maybe even with the DCT.

Ummm... well... since I brought it up; I have parts list with all the fiddly bits to build these.
However, I don't have a spot to host some PDF's for free downloads.
If someone has a spot I can put these let me know.
As for now, pm your email address and I'll send you the parts list.
At some point I'll also make a PDF with detail photos and some loose dimensions as a guild for DIY assembly.
And of course, I'll build you one if you want to pay for it.
