Grom has single rear shock. Forks are same except adjustable I guess since the cap is different. Same spring fitment.
Did someone mount a Wolfman tank bag? Can you post a picture of the straps you used and where you ran them? I mounted mine but nor sure I like the set up yet.
Hmm...So, I still really want a yellow one. Oh great and sage forum...should I buy a yellow one and keep both? Or should I buy it and sell my red with 40 miles on it? Or should I just start modifying the red. Does color matter?
As Deon Sanders so famously said "boff". For me, I live in one of the least populated counties in TN, and the fifth largest. I don't need one to run around town for errands and commuting and it's always funner to be riding with a buddy, so that's why I have two. I kinda don't see the point in owning one cuz then I'd never have anybody to ride mini bikes with.
I would've already bought one, except...I have some other commitments coming up that are going to cost $, so have convinced myself that I can wait and see if the blue one comes to the U.S. next year. I could still swing one right now, but already have a red car, a red motorcycle and a red mountain bike, and in my case a Monkey is not a necessity, but more of a plaything. I like the yellow, but think the anodized forks don't match as well as the red or blue. I have no doubt if I owned a yellow I wouldn't care about that eventually. So am waiting for the blue which is how I'm justifying being sensible to myself. If that makes sense.
Honda's are red gentlemen. Though if they brought over the Blue I'd be sorely tempted to get another. The blue forks are pretty cool, maybe YSS would make blue shocks to match?
Picked up a red one 2 days ago. Got it for my son in New Smyrna. Having so much fun, I might get a yellow one when I get home to NY in a few weeks.
Do you want to cry? cuz that's what's gonna happen when you take that tank bag off and the beautifully painted candy red tank is all scratched up That's why I didn't put one on mine....I didn't want anybody to see me cry .
It's worked well for me and if installed properly , it's no more visible than clear coat. I put in on all of my painted bikes.
My buddy had a tint shop do his. They heated it and wrapped it right to the seams on his Street Scrambler. Makes cleaning the bike much easier too and you never need to worry about little rock chips or dropping a wrench on it. .
I like the way you think. Just be warned, the yellow ones are hard to find in some parts of the country. The dealer in Pa where I bought my red one couldn't find me a second yellow one. The next shipment from Honda is supposed to leave their east coast warehouse on May 1.
Yikes I hadnt thought of that...going to garage to remove it before the bike moves an inch. Whew, crisis averted, bag removed, no scratches! Time to order a rear rack and small tail bag.
Just an FYI, Ebay has 15% off entire cart today, up to $100 in savings. I just ordered a set of Ohlins shocks for the Monkey for $650 shipped. The only caveat is you have to place the order through the mobile site to use the discount code of psavetoday.
Can someone explain the shifter on the monkey? Why is it attached to the foot rest and then linked to the engine? Is there any issue with mounting an after market shifter directly?
