The reason for a shift linkage is so that it can be adjusted to accomodate different riders

Shoe size as well as riding style make it difficult with a fixed position shifter

Folks think they can achieve a more positive feel with a fixed shifter because they percieve the linkage points as being sloppy

A fixed shifter can be adjusted up or down by a few teeth but that's it and it rarely works for every rider or improves shifting

By using linkage you can make your shift points quicker and more precise as well as less fatigue on the foot

Combine that with a properly adjusted clutch and throttle cables and you've got a setup that can tailor itself to any individual for any riding style much more efficiently

By experimenting with throttle play...clutch and shifter adjustment you'll start to feel the difference even tiny adjustments can make and after a while it all starts to make perfect sense

That's not to say some riders won't benefit from a factory fixed position as they may feel like they have better control of shift points and if they're comfortable with that there's really no reason to try and convince them otherwise

With that said I do enjoy seeing their mind change when you tailor the linkage for them

It's the difference between a nice fitting glove and a sloppy one...they're both gloves....but

I really wasn't quite ready to buy shocks myself, but I'm a sucker for a good deal.

My parts are supposed to be delivered on Friday, wow. Shipping was dear, but total cost is not too bad!

I finally sat on one today! My local dealer has a yellow one. It’s awesome! The seat is really comfy compared to a GROM. It’s an awesome little bike for sure. Anyone want a VanVan? :lol3

Don't remember if I've already posted, but if anyone in Missouri is looking for one, Haden's in Frankford, MO has a yellow one.

Got a bag for the rear rack. I think it will work. Just need to trim the strap length. IMG_1482.jpg IMG_1483.jpg

Yeah, I've been at more than one east coast dealer that's pretty pissed off at the unavailability of Monkey's cuz they can't seem to make it too far from the port. Southern Motorsports in Chattanooga is the highest volume largest Honda dealer in the country apparently (they have 2000 units in stock), and they got ONE in October. By the time they got their one unit, they knew west side dealers that had already sold 5.

We don’t have red ones yet.

I’m not really in the market for one of these as they’re just too small for my pinnacle of fitness physique, but if I was a bit shorter and 100lbs less I’d be into it for sure.

Same here haha my 5'0 wife on the other hand though, this might be something to get her riding. Although I think the Van Van 200 might be a better choice.

The seat on the Monkey is to die for. Its very close to the ground and big and cushy, and you can move all over. Its not big on power but it can carry me at 50mp+ and I am 5'11" and 230lbs.

So I picked up mine this morning. 0 miles on it!! That does not happen too often. I told my wife I would ride it back to Houston - from San Antonio and she thought I was crazy. Not just because of the distance but because a cold front passed through the night and the temperature dropped a good 20 degrees from yesterday. Welcome to Texas.
