Hi: I have a 96 PC800 and live in the Valley. Some of your modifications sound interesting. What part on NS are you in?

Not going to buy a PC with a trailer hitch installed. I have seen the abuse that Goldwing owners place on their bikes. A PC was not designed to pull a trailer. It does well to pull it's own weight. Please, no pictures of PCs with a trailer attached. Just because you can do it does not make it right.

Maybe it was put there to hang the motorcycle version of Truck Nutz. The PC is certainly macho enough for that.

Not a garage queen -- I commute 45 miles along the winding bay road to work each day. I'm just shy of 95,000 miles. For sale or trade if someone offers the right bike, but meanwhile, I'm having fun riding.

Ok, time to ask the experts here for an opinion if you would, please : my PC started running rough so I started looking into what could be the cause. Started with spark then fuel. Replaced the fuel pump then winter intervened. I'm about to restart this search and thought I might pick your brains first; maybe I'll save some time and actually get to ride her before next winter!
Best I can recall, it started gradually from higher revs and barely noticeable progressing to more and more pronounced. Bike still runs (at least it did-haven't tried this year) but I doubt it'll self correct.
    Thank you in advance.

My guess will be the fuel. Try some Seafoam for a start.

Definitely try a rich mixture of Seafoam

Thanks for the Seafoam suggestions. First thing I tried was Techron. The gradual decline just continued. Now that the bike is apart (whew!) I'd like to look into the items likely to cause the problem. I really don't want to strip off all the tupperware again for a long time!

I left the bottom part of it off mine. Seemed simpler for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting.

My speedo cable broke. New motion pro 02-0113 on order. Wondering what people are using for lubricant on the speedo cables? I guess 69k miles is pretty good on the original without being lubricated.

Speaking of Plastikote, it's available in glow-in-the-dark colors. Talk about being seen at night!

I first painted it with Plastikote in Turquoise...had it that way for 5 minutes before my eyeballs popped out of my head so changed it to black
