Congrats on the new purchase. I have to say it’s refreshing to see a new rider happy about their first bike. You can see it on her face. Don’t let your experience take away her joy. Let her enjoy the bike for what it is.

Best thing about owning one of these bikes is you can literally teach everyone you know to ride. Spent two hours with my co-worker getting her from zero to “could ride in traffic if she needed to.” :lol3

First real ride, 40 miles, she’s a fan, mentioned today she wants to ride to the Grand Tetons and back this fall, so that’s a good sign, right?

We went to a dealership again this past week to check out the Rebel once more. My wife really wanted to test ride one, but the dealership doesn't offer test rides. I'm pretty sure she's going to pick up a Rebel 300 w/ABS. She's 5' 3" and loves that she can flat foot the bike so easily.

She's ATGATT. She brought her riding gear to the dealership in a big duffle bag. She was ready to put it on if they had had test rides.

This is great to see as it's one of the bikes I was thinking about for my short wife. And great seeing all the happy riding wives!

That 300 rebel is just a bash plate and knobby tires away from a scrambler!

I may just have to go and test ride one of these 300's. From what I've read , since it has roller rockers there's no need to remove the cams to replace valve shims....a big plus.

I was looking really hard at the 500 Rebel before I got my scr950. I almost regret not buying it... but I got the scr950 for such a good deal and the rebel would have needed a lot of modding to be what I wanted. Still, it’s a cool bike.

It’s a 16k interval. How much are you planning to ride?

I definitely do not ride that many miles in a year.....not even close. If I'm accurate on the no cam removal for shim replacement, the deal gets sweeter.....IMO. Cam removal just seems like a PIA ( never done it before ).
