Who cares about a slipper clutch? It's getting new suspension!
Well then, there it is. Pretty nice set of upgrades, too. Glad to be wrong, here.
I really like the new matte blue jeans color. I just wish Honda would include the passenger pegs and seat as standard.
Honda has redesigned the seat and made it thicker but seat height remains the same somehow.
Dash now has a gear indicator
Europe will get an "S" version with a cowl and other accessories. I hope the cowl will be available as an accessory here in the US.
Oooo......I wonder if the dash retrofits
I was just wondering that myself.
That looks great! My wife is eyeing this as her first bike, would be a good match for my CB300F.
Parts books are out for the 2020’s!
The slipper looks like a direct swap for all 300’s. The cover part number remains the same pre and post slipper. I’m ordering the parts and will install it in my CB300R.
I’m waiting for the service manual and wiring diags to determine if the dash is a direct swap. They use the same plug it appears. But the wiring harness part number is different between 2017 and 2020 Rebels.
Good info! If you have a chance to determine whether the headlight and taillight would be direct swaps, that’s what I am most curious about.
Sorry, I didn’t even look at them.
The LED HL on my 300R uses a non standard connector compared to a normal HL. So atleast that and the flasher will need to be swapped over.
That said, I’ll have the 2020 service manual in a week or so and will look into it.
first, all my research is based on a Rebel 300. If you have a 500, your on your own. I have no idea if these mods will work or not.
All of my comments are based on what I’ve found in the service manual, parts listings.
This does NOT appear to be backdate able without extensive upgrades. You’ll need a wiring harness and a gear position switch at a minimum.
They appear to be a straightforward 2 wire swap over. Don’t forget to get an LED compatible flasher.
Tail lamp assy
Appears to be plug and play
The ‘20 uses 3 wires in a different 4 wire connector. It would be possible to replace the connector on an old bike and mount this lamp. BUT, due to parts costs. It’s more cost effective to go aftermarket with a normal H4 connector.
Is NOT plug and play. I’m building a parts list / instructions post for whats required.
I've been looking at this bike the past 3-4 days. I had a CBR250R. Does the Rebel 300 rev high like the little CBR?
It revs out to 10.5k like the cb300 models. It is tuned slightly differently to increase torque at lower revs but it still pulls hard all the way to the limiter.
The Rebel pulls a +1 counter sprocket much easier than the CB3. But lacks in top end comparatively.
A TTO tach would work.
Hopefully the suspension is a bit better on the 2020 models.....vs the 2019 model I test rode last fall ( spine whacker is was).
The list of accessories isn't bad. Neither are the prices. I wish Honda would offer the passenger accommodations as standard. They're really being cheap charging extra for that.
Can anyone comment on the OEM tires? What better choices are around?
