The Road4 are good tires but my only gripe with them is life is shorter then Road3. I still use Road2 if I can get them, still a great tire and are cheap. Road2 are/were used as OEM tire when Road4 came out now I think I'm seeing Road3 used as OEM. Most recent I used Road5 and they are even better then previous generations...but man are they getting pricey, why I still go for Road2.

I agree the tires aren't cheap but there's always been a price for quality.

I didn't get a chance to ride until today. The weather is becoming more and more capricious. I'm thinking I can ride tomorrow but that's probably it for this week. Another cold front with heavy rain is on its way. My riding season is slowing down quite a bit at this point. I've become a fair weather rider over the years. I can still handle (some) rain but I'm out when it gets cold(er). One of the bad things about Texas weather is the lack of transition. It's summer one day and literally winter the next day. As I get older I find that I have less resistance to the cold. I'm looking forward to my 10 day vacation in southern Mexico for the Holidays. It's become a tradition for the wife and I to go chasing the sun at Christmas time.

It's still on the chilly side especially in the morning but it's good enough for a ride. Went and got my favorite BBQ. I also rolled 7,000 miles. Still loving it!

I like the look of your machine, and the Tx ( real BBQ, not the stuff they claim as BBQ here in Nc.) made my mouth water.

Thanks! It's really fun to ride too. I still can't believe I own one. So weird.

I think all BBQ is good. Texas does brisket really well IMO. The ribs were incredible today! And I like my potato salad with mustard in it. How about you guys?

I like my potato salad on someone else's plate and baked beans on mine. We had Texas BBQ today, as well... a local place that has the best BBQ I have ever had. I tried a new dish today: brisket nachos; they even make their own tortilla chips. You can get your brisket "moist or lean"... I am a moist kinda guy. :-) And, a two-meat (sliced brisket and pulled pork) sandwich. I'm still stuffed, and drooling just writing about it.

Just bought a few goodies today

    A Honda top box

I of course need the Honda rack for the top box

Since I was at it I also added a rain cover for my seat

And then I thought, might as well make the shipping worth it so I also bought a Barracuda rear fender

I ain't got no beer money left! :lol3

That rear rack looks like a weapon the terminator would you use... You could always hold up a liquor store with that... and make a quick getaway!

Rear fender is a mess on, i fitted a combined hugger/chainguard with no instructions and was a ballache, rear caliper lifted off, back wheel loosened and slid back, took ages, tail tidy takes hours to do, its not been designed to make it easy to swap or replace parts.

I had not ridden my X ADV in about a week or so due to bad weather. The sun's out and so am I! It's gonna be a great commute going back home. I should be able to ride all week. Yes!!!

I was so looking forward to riding to work this morning. 66 F with a high of 75 F later. I turn the knob and press the start button. Nothing. I noticed the bike was in 1st gear. I tried to put in neutral but it wasn't possible. After a quick search on the internet, I found out that when the battery is low (and needs replacing) the bike will do this. The DCT only works on a well charged battery. Guess who's going to their favorite dealer this weekend?

The OEM battery is $236 :eek7 and needs to be ordered. I bought the generic one.
