I've been following MikeS' RR in Peru and I like his advice that an XR190CT is adequate for the region. I had a vague plan to get a CRF250L in Peru for South American adventuring, but I think this bike is probably more appealing (+ it's got a 12 litre tank). At almost half the price of the 250, I could imagine having a Central American one as well. ;-) Time to start thinking minimalist. What could possibly go wrong? Those gaiters are hiding very small forks.
